Where to buy equipment in BC?

Hi all!

Not,sure if this is the right forum to ask this, bit here goes.....

I recently moved back to BC, from living overseas, and I find everything here to be so expensive, especially grow lights, ballasts, etc.

I have gone onto web-sites of local grow shops in Vancouver and environs and will I find equipment prices are too dear.

So, where do BC folk buy your grow equipment at decent prices?

oh jesus. fuck hydro shops fosho!! for lighting. you can build an led grow light for almost any price! spend 500 building one and youll have a SUPER good light. fans and stuff from amazon.

Hey!

Thanks folks!

At the moment DIY would not be for me. I am staying as a guest in a family member's home (apartment, not a house), so, I have no place to use drills, solderers, etc. Second, I have no tools anymore.

When I lived overseas, I could get a 1000W Lumatek dimmable, digital ballast light kit, including bulb, air-cooled hood, cords, etc, for around $300 to $350, depending on the exchange rate. 600 W were even a little cheaper. 600W would suit my setup.

They even had cheaper digital /dimmable ballast light kits, with generic ballasts.

Although, I am interested in LED, I am an HID guy,and I have got my skills dialled in for HID setups, so I don't wanna have to learn what works and does not work with LEDs....maybe in future when I have more time/space to deal with it.

I don't plan to get any equipment until I get my own place.

I do get blown away by the high prices here. (For food, electronics, grow lights, etc.). I knew house prices rents were high in BC, so I am used to that.
