Where to buy a jeweler's loop

I would like to purchase a jeweler's loop, but I'm not sure what power I need for tricombs and a good place to order one. I looked on eBay and found some but was wondering if anyone knows any other place. I currently have a Radio Shack hand held microscope but I have trouble holding it still enough to get a real good look for the amber color.

Thanks if you can help

Hobby stores usually carry them, the ones that sell baseball collectibles.
I bought one with a light, i think it's a 100X but you have to use them properly.
Cut a small piece of leaf with trichomes on it then place it on a well lit flat surface to inspect, freehanding it with both is godamn near impossible for my stoner hands.

Go to Radio shack or the equivalent, they have a cheap one either $10 or $20, that's all you need to check out your trichs

glasspackedbowl,

That is the scope I have now, my hands just arent very steady, I'll try cutting a piece off and laying it on paper, also need to replace the batteries for more light. Thanks

I just thought it might be easier with a loop.

Any local Jewelry shops should carry them. If they dont ask them if they know of a local jewelry supply store. These stores usually carry supplies that have to do with the jewelry business in general. A normal diamond loupe is 10x. Im sure you could find stronger ones. A 10x should cost no more than 25 dollars. I took mine to the dam and several coffeeshop employees thought it was a kick seeing me examine the different buds. The 10x works well enough for me but I wouldnt mind a stronger one. Hope this helps. If you cant find any locally let me know, my profession calls for the use of loupes and I cant definitely help you out brother.

I just bought a mini-scope too, they're definately not very user friendly, a real pain-n-the ass in fact, would love to hear some more input on the subject....Seems like i remembering using a large magnifying glass years ago.

Loops aren't that great, got one recently and I was rather disappointed. I use a 10x Canon from a camera and it works much better than a 30x loop... kinda weird.
