Hi I am looking to buy some mylar either offline or online. I would prefer offline but cheap is what I am really looking for. Thanks!

I'm sure you heard it before but white paint is only about 3% less effective, and a hell of alot easier to clean

Emergency Blankets are a low grade form of mylar. They are 54" x 84", and will cost you about 5 bucks in walmart, ebay, or any place that sells camping products.

Another form of mylar is Reflectix Insulation, they can be found at homedepot. They're dimpled, which means hotspots are greatly reduced.

And finally another form worth mentioning are giftwrapping mylar. They are almost identicle to horticulture grade, and will cost you about $10 a roll. Check your local party supply store and make sure you only get the color-less ones.

Solid white walls are so much easier to clean and deal with in general. Next up would be Foylon. Wal mart used to have space blankets, but dammit can't find them anymore, they do best in front of an already white wall. ^^^Reflectix is very good...but expensive. $50 for a 4x25 roll.

I say go with the white walls, its the same thing. And overall it reflects light the same way. And the white walls are much easier to clean. But if your renting and can't paint them walls, mylar would be the best bet. Try home depot like pontiac said...

I swear by the emergency camping blankets. They are like 2 bucks each. And when the grows done they dispose of easy so no cleaning necessary.

I saw those at the dollar store yesterday. Obviously not a whole roll, but I'm sure 4 or 5 bucks worth would do any cabinet more than enough. That's if it's the same shit anyways.

If you do go with a Mylar type product...which I don't recommend, as I just tore all mine down and painted everything white....then be sure the lights don't get nesr it. Stuff melts on contact.

I suggest , white paint , But wash the walls, and any wood, down first with a bleach and water mix , kill any mold or mildew in the wood first , then use Kilz2 paint , it's flat, white ,and latex water base , water clean-up and will continue to stop the mold and mildew . Don't paint without clean'n the wood first or any lil spore will grow under and threw the paint , as i said before use paintable caulking or PL5000 or liquid nails to seal , then the paint will seal it all also

my dad is a house painter , retired at 40,after painting the homes of the stars , i've been painting 30 yrs now , check out "my lil vegebox " thread , i'm paint'n it today , i hope ,have to put a starter in my truck tooo

GIT ER DONE

I also go over the walls with hydrogen peroxide and a rag after every grow. It really helps. Preventive maintainance.

Thats an excellent idea. I was gonna clean with bleach which makes my lungs colapse.
