Where is Iranian Indica from?

As in what region of Iran are they cultivated from? Because I know that Iran has some pretty damn lush forest regions along with the deserts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungles_of_Iran

Tehran is almost identical to where I live, as far as climate, latitude, elevation, etc. So maybe most varieties are cultivated in a similar region meaning it's hardy and fairly heat resistant?

edit: I know there's an Iranian thread already but I didn't see anything in their and I didn't wanna annoy anyone in there lol.

Cannabis grows nearly all over the country, with loads of different strains and phenos to be found, from sativa to indica. I remember once, while watching some TV doc about Tehran, at some point some street kid was interviewed and he was sitting on the pathwalk. right behind him, growing through a crack in the concrete was a lush, stocky, very healthy-looking and super dark green with text book wide-fingered indica leaves, (about 2feet tall) cannabis plant.

My guess would be that the closer you get to Afghanistan, the highest ratio of indica trait are to be found. The closer to the Caucasus, the more sativa, and probably the more variations considering Caucasus is a genetic craddle for the plant.

Just my 2 cents...

Good on the issue of temperature tend to hold these plants would put his hand into the fire that can withstand very high temperatures (I mean that in the African areas tend to rise till over 40 degrees Celsius) and here the echo of that can withstand "good" high temperature ....
That if you have a continuous supply of water course.

I forgot to ask, that cannabis seeds happen to be a staple food in Iran and many families around the country grow their own for the seeds (if I remember correctly, it is actually allowed to grow for seeds).

If not the only case, many more ... one example was in China Ara and 2000 years or more that was a bad time for the country and had to stock up with this plant, its seeds aceindo flour, textiles, supplying the soldiers during the wars, drugs, etc..
