Where does blonde hash get its color?

Sounds like a dumb question but, Why is hash blonde? If hash is a concentrated piece of resin glands, then why isnt it clear/milky like the glands are? I know other stuff gets in there sometimes, but pot plants arent blonde color, nor have i seen any blonde hairs or resin glands on them. How does this happen, what am i not seeing here?

Unless there's plant material in your kif, it usually looks blonde until you start breaking the trichomes down by heat or mechanical action and then it gets darker as it rotates into delta9 thc and decomposes.

The blonde hash was traditionaly harvested from plants earlier in their bloom cycle. WHen taken later than their bloom cycle, you would get the RED hash.
The volatile oils, ie terpenes etc, darken in colour as they age, ie oxydize.

I have really understood this more in the past year as i took on macro photography.
I noticed the majority of growers had 90% + of clear to cloudy heads, with very little amber.
not sure if its due to prohibition or what, but its what i've noticed.

NOt a lot of amber or dark red heads in my photo gallery yet. Although i do have a few...

As for selecting a mesh size for a particular strain, yiou would basicaly have to have a good amount of that material to work with, and run it thru as many types of mesh as you wished to try
anywhere between 160µ and 25µ
Your sweet spots are going to be between 120µ and 73µ, but with different strains one can go beyond those parameters for sweet spot.

My two cents

BM : your macros have taught me heaps too, I remember reading comments about Sam's dry sift for years from those who were lucky enough to smoke it and see it, but the second I saw those photographs of that dry sifted 99.99% resin, I quickly realized just how clean and perfect it was.

I think the future of macro cannabis photography has lots of potential..the pics we will be seeing in 2 or 3 years time will be a mega jump on even today's good shots.

as far as trichome colors go...tbc

So does anyone know where blonde hash gets it color? I see the blonde glands in the pic from bubbleman. I look at my glands before harvest and i never see any of them turn a yellow color like that. They are cloudy and a bit amber, but not blonde, yet i still get blonde hash...

On a side note, i recently made some bubble and i had a grade that was actually almost black, but it tasted awesome and bubbled completley, I would have to say it got me higher than the blonde stuff. Is it possible that the darker hash got me higher...? I just always thought the darker the hash, the less pure..

I have heard that trichromes are like pears with an invisable skin, that can bruise. or it is like a bubble and if it pops and oxygen hits it then it will darken.

I could be wrong. correct me if I am bubble man

this is a shamefull pic in the same thread as bubblemans continued efforts i really need a new camera. The trics on this white rhino are crazy under a scope near stalkless compared to other. Trics start clear early by week 5 they cloud over then go bright white top to bottom anthen lets me know its harvest time when the glands swell to near bursting smaller trics slow and thel inside of the trics shows an oily rainbow effect.. Dont get the exploding large cloudy trics on more sativa Bigbud

White strain

Some Bigbud resin compressed. this is fresh with age it goes quite dark black still translucent. White rhino on the other hand starts blond/ lighter oil
