When To up the Food

G

Guest

Hello Everyone

Im doing a hydrodro Grow using Pure Blend Pro grow 3-1.5-4 Plant food. My question is this . I have been mixing food at 1/4 cup per Gal(sugested by Botanicare for Seedlings). My plants are now 21 days into Veg and 4 in tall and have about 6 nodes each. Is it time to up the food? I have had some problems with theses girls . PH being the main one. I now have PH under control.

Im afraid im starving my plants. I did do some feeding to the leaves to correct nute problems I think were caused by PH with good results.
Thanks SunBursT

Most people here are going to want to see a pic to better diagnose your problem better. I'm on my 1st grow too. My girls are almost a month old. I've been feeding full strength after the second week. Prolly 2 early. But the seemed todo ok. I had a revveg problem but I seem to overcome that. Now I'm trying to figure out when its ok to feed them. Right now the soil is dry on the top to the touch. But I can feel the holes in the bottom of the pot and it feels moist. And I see roots starting to show in the bottom. Gonna wait another day to feed.

Hey CN....doees your pot feel lite?...next time you water your plant give it some run off then pick it up after it's drained...you will feel how heavy it is....the plant will start to wilt when it's been bone dry for awhile...they can go a few days without water when dry...also dont feed food when bone dry...get them wet first then add food....best of luck

Recipes...

Recipes...

For seedlings this size:
2 1/2 teaspoon 3-1.5-4 pbp grow per 1 gallon of water
This would be about 100 ppm nitrogen

Once seedlings get a little larger (8" or so) increase dose...
3 1/2 teaspoon (1 tablespoon + 1/2 teaspoon) 3-1.5-4 pbp grow per 1 gallon of water
This would be about 150 ppm nitrogen

To either of these you need to add more calcium and magnesium.
1/8 teaspoon of both powdered gypsum and epsom salts per 1 gallon of water

-or-

5ml per 1 gallon of water cal mag plus

Try to keep ph at about 6 or slightly lower.

No problem. try my recipes... :joint:

I will be.

I have read several of your post (missed the one on Reading and Following the Directions on your plant food LOL) and have decided to use you as my guide. Im guessing that you have a post on almost everything I need to know by now 3000+. LOL I need to spend a bit less time watching my tomatoes and a bit more reading.
Im guessing if it were not for PH lockout my plants would be dead.

Thank all of you who have responded. I will let you know how they do.

Thanks SunBursT

FLUUUUUUUUUSSSHHH! them puppies and then flush 'em again :)

Stick with that quality one part Pure Blend Pro nute for now in the interest of keeping it as simple as all get out, at least initially.
Believe me. keeping it as simple as possible is a very good thing.
That particular PBP product has kicked ass growth-wise for many a grower and will deliver excellent results right out of the ol' bottle... (all by it's lonesome.)
It does play very well with Liquid Karma if one felt the need for a little extra something to help things along, bump it up a notch if you will...

As experienced carpenters all know, one should measure twice and cut once.
So me, using that same logic, would calculate twice and then pour and measure once from now on to avoid massive over fertilization in the future. :)

Happy Gardening ya'll

Wow sproutco......you better live up to his expectations.....3000+ posts you must know everything about

Thanks Hurricanefaniam. I don't really know when I should be feeding / watering. They are getting almost bone dry. The top is crusty. I can put my finger on the bottom holes and its pretty moist.

I'll water them tommorow and the day after I will feed them. The bottle of B'cuzz Growth stimulator says to use daily? Should I be watering/feeding daily? I was only watering once ever 3 days. With that watering I was mixing in nutes. My veg nutes Canna Flora Nova says to use 1-3 days.

I thought I was supposed to let them dry out before watering. So I figured watering/feeding daily was too much.

Really confused on this watering thing.

Hey sunburst...check the link in my sig.... He poses as a canna farmer, but has no first hand experience with our beloved plant. Don't use post count or reputation to determine whether a member gives legit info or not...

You've been warned...sproutco is a poser.
