When to go to Amsterdam.!

Its been a debate between me a buddy of mine.. Whens the best time to go to amsterdam? I went to the 2000 cup, and he went to this years.. its very crowded, but the selection was good..my buddy said the same.. When is the best time to go?? Is the selection as good or better before/after the cup..?

as far as i am aware and im sure others will also say, most locals in teh dam have no idea about the cup , yeah some shops have a few premier strains during the cup, but there is always good bud, all year around.

I guess the best time would depend on what kind of weather you prefer, and how busy you would like everything to be. Im not sure deciding when to go based around the High Times Cannabis Cup is the best idea.

if your into the whole cup thing, the 420 is prolly ur best bet, even the highlife cup in february this year...

Hmmm Silvertrain i think your buddy is right about not going during the cup, but if thats your thing to go be a "judge" then by all meens, but if you just wanna go and relax and just blend in as a local, dont go during the cup.

i agree with MMz, thats the conclusion i came to when deciding when to go. "blending in as a local" seems easy and relaxing enough. Me and two friends are going March 12-22.

Ive been to adam twice now once during the cup and one this Jan, I must admit it was nice to be around alot more english speaking people during the cup but the shops were overly packed. I hit twice as many shops this trip in 4 less days. It all depends on what your after do you want the real A'dam experience with locals or do you want to waste your money on a gimmick thats fixed.

I've been to A-dam a few times and at a few diffeent seasons.

If you like to hang out in a crowd....you want to go during the summer months or during the cups.

If you want to smoke in peace and be able to really take in each coffeeshop...you'll want to go in the off-season which is anytime other than the time I stated previously.

I find the overall herbal quality is a bit better during the off season as well since the demand isn't so high and they can pick and choose the better buds from the growers...as appossed to taking whatever just because they need quantity to supply to the people.

Grey Area, De Dampkring, Barney's are very good places to start.

The best bud I've smoked in the damn was Barney's SSH and they also had the best ice-o-later hash I've smoked, which was the Helter Skelter. Dampkrings moonshine bubble was also very potent too.

in terms of season.It all depends on what your looking for. If you want lots of people everywhere go during the summer. The downside of that is thats when all the pricks come out including the muggers, crackheads, and ppl who beg for money. They know thats when the tourists are coming and thats when they come out. Also its nearly impossible to find a seat anywhere during the summer. During the off season including the winter is much more chill and less crowded but it can get bitterly cold in A'dam also.
