I like to wait till there is enough top to clone.

Say 9 or 10 total nodes and top back to about the 6th - you should get 2 solid shoots plus,, and the original main growth tip in the cloner.

If the tip gets roots, your good to go and if not - I usually take 2 of the best shoots and try again.

If you looking to add branching,you can top after the 3rd set of true leaves.The plant is growing so fast it does'nt even notice.It is best to do all pruning and training early in veg.Pruning too late will just slow down the sexing process.Once 12/12 has been initiated..No pruning or clipping at all..This causes the Bulk of Hermaphradism..with Light pollution being a close second.

you can do afew things to make your plant as bushy as possible

#1. FIM instead of topping this is where you take the main growth shoot and cut it leaving the bottom 10% of the shoot. the plant will retain a single cola and force 3-8 new growth shoots per branch FIM'd.

#2. LST this is where you tie your plant over secure bottom on 1 side of container and pull top towards other side, this trains the plant along the ground. also exposses the side branchs to the direct lighting thus making them like main branchs. { when i do this i pull top untill i feel resistance then tie it off it takes few days to achieve desired angle }

#3. supercropping this is done to any branch that is to tall i go 3-4 nodes down from top of branch and squeez/crush the inners of the stem then bend it over at that point.
this will all but halt upward growth on many strains and forces everything to become more bulkier.

i have tutorials in my gallery for FIM and LST saved from overgrow, ive used every method i've explained and was more then happy with the end results :)

i have a schroom plant almost done 55days 12/12 every branch on her was crushed and bentover lmao, my grape krush her main was also. as long as ya dont break off the stem and just crush the inners it will continue to grow. plant shouldnt miss a growth beat mine dont

or check out the multi topping method I use to maximise yields. Ideally you would want around 8 tops, more than that doesn't tend to add extra yield. Click the lazy growing link.
