When is it too late to cut off.... Flowering help

Hey everyone.

I have 6 plants in flowering. 2 are just over 3 weeks in, and the other 4 are just over 2 weeks in.

My questions is this -- Is it to late to cut off the smaller side brances to focus more on the ones under direct light?

I already cut off the bottom 2 brances of each plant and tried to clone. I successfully did that about 10 days ago.

I don't plan on cloneing what I cut, I just want the plant to focus more on the buds directly under the light.

I'm 25 days into flowering for my eldest and they're looking great

My youngest ones are about 19 days.

Thanks for your help, and sorry if this question has been answered before, I'm rushing out the door and hope to have repsonses when i return.

Peace

So my main concern is affecting or effecting (idk which one lol) overall yield. I'm better off just cutting off the small mini-nothing looking popcorn nug branches?

I'm not worrying about space, I have plenty of it, or at least plenty to fill in. I'm just worried about my babies taking a turn for the worse and not yielding because i messed with them.

I always think cutting causes a stunt in growth and in the end the production is pretty close either way. I have raped a plant with trimming and though I thought it was best for the girl the day I did it I realized it didn't help enough at the end to justify cutting a beautiful girl all to hell

Well I didn't cut my ladies to hell.

I just looked for the least developed shoots. The smaller, lower ones with little or no pistil formation were cut. Overall about 2 per plant.

I did an experiment with my Top44 - She's 2 weeks into flowering and just showed sex. I cut 4-6 of her side shoots (she's only about 16in tall). I'm gonna see if maybe she'll focus on her main cola and upper shoots.

Thanks for all your replies. I appreciate the insight from those with more experience than me.

As for trying an experiment - I'm doing so with my Top44 and I have only cut the crappiest looking bud sites. The rest of my plant is looking nice. almost 4 weeks for the eldest and the bud sites are pretty developed.

I may order some TopMax or BioBloom to help feed my babies.

Once again, thanks.

This thread has helped me a little, but what is little pistol formations? I have some side buds about 1.5 feet from the light that look the size of a marble but there are white hairs all over it.... it isn't as impressive as the top but is it worth keeping maybe and extra 2-3 grams?

i dont like to touch the plant after the third week i leave her be.but do some minor branch and bud site removal. i dont remove the leaves

I would never remove a healthy fan leaf as I know how vital they are to normal operation and feeding.

What I meant by little pistil formation is that where the pistils pop out. On my smaller less developed side shoots they were little. Compared to my main sites, they were worthless at this point.

I'd rather have my plant focus more on a nice potent bud than waste energy on a small popcorn nug.

I didn't want to touch my baby this late in flowering, but I definitely wanted to help it out a little bit by refocusing its energy to a more useful site.

At day 25, I can easily see which shoots are prominent. Sure they may not look like the main cola, but as long as it is of nice size, I wouldn't touch it.

What I saw was like less than 10 little hairs at 3 weeks of flowering... So I snipped it away.
