When do males begin to produce pollen?

In about what week into the flower periode do the males begin to release pollen. Are the flowers opened pollen bags or a different thing ?

As soon as you see what looks like nuts or bananas, that is a pollen sack and pollen production has begun. When that sack gets full it bursts open releasing its pollen. Or it will release if you handle the male plant to hard removing it causing a pollen sack(s) to bust open.
Males can show and pop fast. If you only check your grow every few days, you could miss him.

Generally speaking: Males will show sex first and females "generally" develop pistils before they develop calyx.

Good tip: Watch for either... Especially after you think that you have identified all males, That way you are more apt to catch hermies as well.
