When Can I Pollinate ?

I have an auto jack that i want to sex with some male pollen i collected off another auto

When can i pollinate her or when is the best time to pollinate her ?

Right now she just has a few pistils here and their , can i just brush some on the pistils and the beans will form as the flowers grow or do i need to wait a little longer when their is some bud formation ?

When there are white hairs you can pollinate and the sooner the more likely they will fully mature.

If you pollinate now just those pistils will get pollinated. so if you need more seeds you need to reapply pollen when you get more pistils. Or you can wait and pollinate all at once when you feel you got enaugh pistils.

i say wait until u have atleast 4-5 weeks left till harvest. so that u have time to let them mature. but it depends on how many seeds u want.. the less pistils the less seeds.. unless u reapply pollen wen there are more pistils.. but if u just wait a little longer.. tll the buds are about dime size.. then id do it then on the lower branches. but if u want a shit ton of seeds.. which .. in my opinion.. thats the only way to make seeds.. is just letting u get as many as ucan from the plant.. so id say.. once the buds are around dime size.. toss that polen on there.. and then wait until u can pull a couple off and they are all coming off dark tiger stripes.. u can usually see the calyx pop open .. and ull see if its dark or still green or white.. .. once u see dark.. then u can pull them off.. the longer u let the seeds stay on the plant the better they store.. thats wat i read from Sam the Skunkman.. and i trust him on that one.. he says 3-6weeks for seeds to mature .. im pretty sure unless im quoting him rong.. but im pretty sure he said 3-6 or 4-6 but he likes to let them go longer for better storage.

Just an example, I wanted some seeds from a Flo several years ago so I waited until 28 days flowering and only pollinated the lowest two branches. I harvested the top at normal harvest time and let the two pollinated branches go another 10-14 days, when the seeds start popping out of the calyx they are ready. I had 280 seeds just from those two lowest branches that would have been popcorn buds anyways.

As I only grow 10 plants or so at a time I'll have a lifetimes worth of seeds, especially as I'm making F2's this run..........

seeds take a little over a month to mature, so as long as you apply pollen before day 30 you should be solid...like midnight toker said just harvest the seeded parts suuuper late. wait until the seeds are busting out like they would in nature

These guys know what they're talking about... the longer the seeds stay on the plant, the better. One point of pollinating early is to limit the number of flowers that get impregnated. And the seeds have their best chance of maturing the earlier you go. Alternatively you can just pollinate selectively depending on how many seeds you want. I did it both ways on my last run, pollinated both Indica and Sativa early, so there were only a few flowers on the main stem of the sativa, but a lot on the Indica. I bombed the Sativa and chose branches on the Indica plants. I got fully mature seeds from all plants, but not so much that the harvest was hurt by seeds. At least a few hundred seeds would be my guess, so unless you need a lot, do just a few buds and/or pollinate earlyish.
