Hey everyone,

Im in a very early stage idea/concept that focuses on buying seeds online, I'm looking at how people buy seeds, and I think there's room for improvement.

I've had my own experiences buying seeds online, but id really love to hear your experiences, whatever they may be.

and if there was one thing you could wave a magic wand and change what would it be?

When buying seed online I learn to buy only from the breeder first. Not to buy from a 3rd party who sells for a breeder. The reason is that one may not get what he or she ordered, because the seed was switched. If I had a magic wand I would drop all the seed prices to $30 for 10 seed. 😎

thanks for the insight, much appreciated, can you suggest a good breeder/s to buy from.
i wish the seeds were much less also, they are way over priced imo.

Mandala seeds have very good buys at good prices. Their weed is always very pleasing when I grow them. Every plant I have ever grown from Mandala was a heavy yielder that could take the heat and used very little nutrients. I think I paid on average about $30 for 10 hybrid seeds a few years back. They may be a little higher now but still priced great. Their plant vigor is out of this world.

The Safari seed mix is only 2 bucks a seed. Hey I have found some super killer plants in the Safari mix. I bought 40 seed for $80 and got a free 10-pack of freebies. That's 50 killer seeds for less than $100 bucks. Here are photos of Safarimix. The finished flowers are killer.😎

I ordered at Pick n Mix in UK, at Cannapot in Austria, a few times at ChuMajek(R.I.P. ^^) in Spain and last time directly at Ace Seeds. This was all fine, no problems and i got what i had ordered + nice Bonus Seeds. 👍

was there any sticking points, anything not likeable from ordering from them?

Good tip! OTOH the avg Joe is not willing to pay $250 USD/bean. There are some greedy MOFOs out there!

No, there was nothing I didn't like about the process. And the fact that Dubi (head guy at Ace seeds) is an active and attentive member on the Ace forum here is an added bonus, as he'll happily give advice on the seeds.

If your from the USA then order from the USA. Most vendors ship in breeder sealed packaging.

I never had anything I didn't like about them. You may not like Ganesh because it is a small plant but that's the way it's supposed to be. About knee high but its got a kick to it. 😎

The genetics were good in my overseas purchases, but several times customs intercepted the seeds. Most companies replace the seeds, but one seedbank ignored me. Too bad so sad! Now I try to buy from US companies but I am finding the genetics I want are not sold in the states or I don't trust some of those seed banks here. With the high price of seeds now I am cautious I guess.

Magic wand? I want the exact shit in the picture 😂 Paradise Seeds did the best in that respect with their IceCream; Reserva Privada the worst with their SkywalkerKush... 1 keeper out of six beans for $120. Two were wild sativa phenos might've been good smoke flowered for 6 months.. two were just junk, two were OK looking but only one was worth smoking, but you had to flower her 80-90 days and she was a runt so I'll never buy their gear again.

On the other side once you start making your own beans you can just trade beans with other frijole makers, OLÉ!

Tbh I’ve had mainly great experiences and I’ve ordered from ALL OVER. Over the last couple of years though I’ve tried to go direct to breeder if at all possible. If not I have a couple of seedbanks that I prefer. I live in Canada and obtaining seeds from many of the companies I LOVE has been an absolute chore or impossible. So I’ve stuck with what I can obtain, I’d still love to be able to obtain packs from many of the breeders that seem to be unobtanium in the great white North.

However it’s still a far cry from trying to obtain seeds 15-20 years ago, never mind further back than that so I guess I should count my blessings
