What's Wrong With My Plants

So I have these plants that have not been doing well and I'm not sure what exactly is wrong. When the issue first started I thought it was the result of the sprays I was using to fight spider mites but I now believe that had nothing to do with it. My plants are in fox farms soil and I'm using Botanicare nutes. I do pay attention to my PH. I shoot for 6.5 but it's not easy to pinpoint when you using the drops to test the PH. I have recently checked the runoff from a heavy watering and it was in the 6-6.5 range so I don't think it's a PH issue. I have 5 plants that are about 6-8 months old and I have 6 plants that are about 2-3 months old. The older plants are the ones that are really affected while the smaller ones are only showing very minimal signs. I have all the plants in 1 gallon fabric pots. I realize these pots are too small for extended growth but my plants are only about 2' high and I'm not flowering them, I'm only using for clones for an outdoor summer crop. My best guess is that my soil is saturated with salts and that is the cause but I'm just not sure. The new growth on top of the old plants seems to be fine but as soon you go down about 3 nodes the problem is evident. I know most people will say upgrade the pot size and use fresh soil but due to limited space I can not go up in pot size. I have some pictures but they do not show in great detail the red/brown spotting on the older fan leaves. There is yellowing and some very limited upward curling. I believe this is enough info to get some quality answers. Hopefully the IC community will give me the help I am in need of

Thanks Ya'll

Hack back the rootball to 25%, trying to avoid larger roots.

Do the same to the foliage.

Repot in the same pot with fresh soil.

I keep a wide range of mums and do this periodically every 2-4 monthes. Light food and water until they put on a spurt of growth.

Crappy mums, crappy clones.

Cheers

Mikell, thanks for your input. I'm beginning to think it is the soil as I seem to have no brown/red spots on any of the newer plants. Not sure how much I will be able to "hack" back as my plants are in just 1 gallon pots so how much can I actually hack off??

The mums I keep are in 1 gallon pots with coir and perlite. I used beercups but there is no leeway.

50% is fine if you are nervous or need clones quickly-ish. The main thing is to roughly match the roots to the foliage.
