Somebody help these babys? They turnin yellow and leaves wiltin/droopin a little, stems turn kinda red. I just got um bout a week ago and put um in Ag Natural soil, the ones I didnt transplant/not under the light are still cool, whats goin on? I only waterred once and the soil is still wet, I used some half strength rhizotonic.
The bottom 3 havent been transplanted/put in hps light and are still fine (waiting to go outside):

Heres some pics of the ones thats hurtin:

Im thinkin maybe I shoulda mixed the soil with perlite or something, as it retains water pretty good. other than that I don't know....

There it is there, dont know whats wrong with these babys, everything else is doin fine...

Here you go if you want a "doc" to chime in...:D

Yellow growth especially new growth signals root damage and/or high ph...6.7 is high.

Try a light feeding with an acidic fert containing all 6 micros including iron. Most ferts are acidic and will have a carbonate neutralizing number on the package...how much lime is needed to make the acidic fert neutral.

If the clones are trying to grow without what they need they may go yellow.

Peace, Buzz

if you live near a lowe's i saw some "soil acidifier" in the gardening section. it had zinc, sulfur, copper and iron and maybe a few other trace elements for $10.97...and it was a JUG. said something about 120 servings, uses, something like that. i am experiencing the same problem, hey buzz would that be sufficient?

If you need to drop your ph get proper ph down to add to your water. Surprised buzz didn't recommend battery acid like he usually does....

That is not the problem with your plants. They are overwatered from your soil not having adequate drainage. You need to add 30% perlite to peat based soil for drainage. Your roots are drowning in soggy soil, the nitrogen is getting locked out because of this. Is there drainage holes in your cups? Transplant asap to proper soil/perlite mix.

Don't listen to buzzlightyear as he is a well known poser here with always changing usernames because he keeps getting banned. Anyone who knows how to grow can see right through his bullshit wrong advice. He was chased out of here for awhile and was banned as blackvelvet (actually coventry) by Dutchgrown so no one would fall victim to his bad info, but I see, like a bad case of herpes, he is back with a vengeance. He doesn't care about you, he is just here to feed his ego. Search blackvelvet and you will find lots of evidence.

A "doc"....yeah sure. If you add more ferts to your plants like BLY says and don't correct the soggy soil he will have helped you kill your plants and he will be proud. 6.7 is not too high, it is within acceptable range of 5.8 - 6.8. He almost gets it right with the root damage but has no idea how that damage occurred and grasps at straws for a remedy. Hey, sounds good to the unsuspecting noobs. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Have a nice day, blackvelvet.

wow, very well put sir. so does he have to go to a soil mix or could he go to a perlite/vermiculite mix and be fine?

I think either would be fine as long as the soil has adequate perlite. They issue is drainage and the longer the plants sit with waterlogged roots the worse they will get. I don't recommend vermiculite as the fibers are not good to breathe, not as dangerous as asbestos, but still dangerous for the same basic reasons.

My choice would be (and is) coco. Straight coco does not need any help with drainage, it is closer to ideal ph than peat (which is very acidic) and you can add (like I do) worm castings (15%), kelp (15%) and I use BioBizz PreMix dry fert.

Coco comes in a nice small brick that expands to many times it's volume, which means you aren't at the home depot in winter buying bales of promix and looking shifty. Plus no telltale perlite in your waste soil when you are done with it.

I orderred some coco.... until it comes maybe I just dont water? I was thinking of taking off the tops and puttin um in my bubble cloner until they seem ready, think they will clone allright?

You should stay away from "soil acidifier" ferts. They contain too much ammonia/urea. You want no more than 1/2 your nitrogen ammonia or urea. The other 1/2 should be nitrate nitrogen. Look for something like 20-10-20 at Lowes. It might advertise contains no urea! That's good your checking micros...there are 6 not including chlorine and others. The main 6 are: iron, manganese, zinc, copper, boron, and molybdenum.

Peace, Buzz

How do they look right now? Better, same, worse?

Ideally you need to transplant asap, but if they look the same or better they can wait for the coco. Water very sparingly, only if they need it (pots are very light in weight) until they get transplanted.

Cloning is not a great idea because the plant is weak and the clones may not root. If it is your only chance at saving them than try, but to clone them now would make it very hard for the cuts in their weakened state to produce roots.

BTW, lower cuts are best because the lower the branch is to the ground, the more rooting hormone it contains. If you buried your plants past the first branches, they would produce roots.

If that IS the MJR blend of AgNatural soil, that is a base mix soil with NO nutrients besides some earth worm castings. Looks like overwatering combined with lack of nutes and fresh air could be your problem. Hope this helps! GL

Thanks yall, I put the tops of 2 of um in the cloner and the rest was scrapped, too much of a hassle tryna save these babys, got too much else goin. I cut the soil 30% perlite with the other ones I had, transplanted and finna start feeding next water, the soil was AG natural ocean blend. peace-
