edit: the dome has holes in it now

Damn that is FAST
I can't think of what may have done this.
Sometimes I use No Wilt.... it's a wax you spray on it works very well. I don't use it all the time... just the hard to root ones. But it stops wilt for sure.

This moved very quick 3 hours with a dome sucks.
SORRY I have no answers hope someone else has a clue.

Keep your floros as close as possible. Tape the holes up. Some times clones will wilt a bit. Keep the humidity up in the dome, Kinda like a rain forest. They will come around as long as you keep the peat pellets moist and not really wet. I keep my domed tray on a heat mat set at 85 deg. F. Roots in 7-10 days on most. Try not to spray the clones directly just the dome. Check it a few times a day. They should be fine.

cool that makes me feel a little better... i taped up some of the holes (only left three open) and i'll go raise them up a bit......... they are by the heater and the temp in the dome is 77-85..... i did spray them directly though...... hope they will be ok because my mother can only give up one more.........

i don't keep them on a mat because they've always rotted on me in that situation, but i do have a mat but i have to push it every 2 hours (it's a safety mecanism sp.)....it's not a hort mat with a thermostat just the plain pain mat........ my wife doesn't think highly of me growing so my funds are limited

Hey Blackfin - I thought I would pass on a few tips that have helped me achieve a pretty high success rate (92-95% rooted). First of all, I always trime the leaves by 1/3. What I mean by this is that I trim the tips plus about 1/3 of the leaf itself. A lot of Canadian growers do this because the clones don't need much light to root and you don't want the plant to photosynthesis (grow more foliage) while rooting. You want the plant to focus it's energy on root develpment. Trimming the leaves helps to reduce the exposed leaf mass to the light. This results in less foliage growth and the plant will then focus on developing roots to stay alive.

Another thing is that I only spray the clones directly for the first 4 or 5 days and then I only mist the inside of the humidity dome. This forces the clone to send roots out in search of moisture but this should only be done once the clone has a chance to acclimate after transplant.

The last tip is one that The Danimal taught me that he does with all of his clones (and that's always a shitload of them). Dan lets the clones air once or twice a day for a few minutes. While doing this, he takes the humidity dome and uses it as a fan to gently aggitate the clones a bit. This helps strengthen the early stalk.

I've had clones root in 7 days with this method and even slow rooting clones tookk 10 days. So, hopefully some of this info could be of help to you. Didn't mean to highjack your thread but I though Iwould share this with you.

thank you for the info rellikbuzz,

the clones are coming back it was proly a the fact that they were next to the heater and that there were holes in the dome. the holes in the were put there so i could slowly harden them off. the reason that the holes weren't covered is that i did need to last time, but i didn't have the heater on.

they're not completely back to normal but at least they're not bent over 90 degrees

thanks guys once agin

here's a link to my grow journal i just got a cam yesterday (11-08-05) and will start keeping it updated

jes put the dome on an' let em go!

clones WANT to root. all yas gotta do is cut em, dip em, stick em, and forget about em. jes air exchange it once a day or so like Rellikbuzz said and ya should be okay as far as the clones go.

ya dont want em to be too wet or ya will end up with fusarium.

Hey Blackfin,

From the pics it looks like the tray bottoms are full of water and the clone cubes are sitting in water. If so, I think they may be too wet. If it's not water sitting in the tray it just means I could use some new speks.
