What's this deficiency/disease? (Pic)

I noticed these cuttings I used to clone for sex are getting these pinprick sized raised bumps around the edges of the leaf surface.

They've been in there about 3 weeks now and came off a plant that was receiving nutrients, but the cuttings haven't had nutrients since they were cut 3 weeks ago.

I kept them around b/c, what the hell, I have space & this is my first grow so might as well have a few disposable plants to learn from (like now).

Raised bumps around the sides of the leaf... Very early K deficiency?

Hmm... it's a puzzler, I'm afraid of it being thrips or fungus gnats - nasty little buggers.

to Jeremy: I'm in flower, actually. These are clones ook to sex the plants that I just decided to let flower until "ripe." The flowers are only about 2 weeks old, so I don't know if it could be trichs...

orpanic: These are growing in a homemade aeroponic cloner unit a la Stinkbud. The only thing added to the water is Clonex liquid.

Dark: I hope it's not a fungus

This is weird.

its trichs starting to develop...

Seriously!?!

:yoinks:

I never ever would have guess that could happen so early. I almost can't believe it! I never came across that info in any book/forum/web guide. MJ is proving full of delightful surprises. This is my first grow, and it really has been a series of really cool discoveries on just a beautiful plant.

Plus so many thanks to everyone who responded - this is the best forum for quick and smart answers. What a resource.

So does the development of trichs now (around 2 weeks into flower) and as they are in my particular situation, can I expect a very sugary girl? What's been your experiences with this sort of thing? If it helps, she's a Cinderella 99 and promised to be pretty frosty.

They should turn out good!

I knew one old guy that used to pick phenos by how much sugar their clones showed lol. I had two critical masses recently that I sexed, A was way more sugary than B as a sexed clone. Now that their moms are both 30 days in flower, the B mother sugared up better than her clone did and is almost as good as the A mother.

Ha! Just goes to show, MJ's tricky like that sometimes. Funnily enough I read that having a heavy number of trichomes does not necessarily mean more potent smoke - I know it is mostly the rule, just not always, so I've heard. I want them anyway - this is my very first grow and I'm still pretty entranced with how beautiful this plant is. Plus, there's no bag appeal like sugary buds. ;)

The clones came from a plant in the vegetative state, on a 24 hour light regimen. And yes, only the clones are showing this phenomenon.

Side note: A poster asked me for a close up pic - I thought I had provided a close-up! How do you guys make those really almost microscopic pictures/ better closeups of trichomes and such? Is it a special camera lens or add on - or does that capability come standard with most digital cameras? Ideally I'd like to be able to do that. I have a "macro" setting on my camera but, the resolution is only as high as you can see in the pics provided.

I thought I'd post some pics of the mother they came from at the time of cloning and more pictures of the clone in question I took at the time. I've given the clones some bloom nutrients, just for laughs & some experience during flower and I'll have a mini harvest. Better to make my mistakes on them than the main grow.
