i wonder if plants like it up on the 30th floor the same as on ground level...

me, i've only grown on the 4th floor (3rd floor if you're euro).

somebody out there must have some skyscraper experience, no?

sorry 'bout the weird Q, but i'm baked... :dance013:

The roof.

Are you asking about indoor cultivation in a highrise or a balcony grow in a smog cloud?

either.
i guess i'm looking for the furthest plants have been grown removed from the ground... i'm sure the earth's electric field is weaker higher up, wondered if it has any observable impact, if at all.

I grow at 2 miles above sea level. 10,000 feet up.

I seriously doubt a couple floors is going to bother what you're doing there. LOL No... lack of electrical field isn't going to do much...

^^^this.

I have a friend that always looks for mounds of earth and small hills to grow on because "the plants are closer to the sun." I gave up trying to explain to him how senseless it is that he was moving them a few feet closer to a light source that is 90+ million miles away.

There are also tons of gardens on top of skyscrapers and tall buildings.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to be waaaaaaaaay up off the ground to have a reduction in the electrical field great enough to impact plant growth.

What electrical field?

I grew on the roof and never had any outlets up there.

Isn't everything held together by electrical bonds?

All my grows have been at about sea level or slightly lower for the last few years.
Must be why my plants tend to be short. The gravitational pull from the center of the earth is that much stronger. LOL.

oh I thought this was just in general what floor you've lived on the highest

I thought It was a very interesting thread

I think me it would be 9th

funny thing, I think always, the executives are on the highest floor right ?

they are like cats, prefer to have the height advantage

Voltage in the electric field increases with altitude, proportional to approximately 32 volts per foot against the gradient.
