Is there much of a difference between a 18/6 timing schedule and a 24//7 schedule

24 is overkill and 18 can be improved on . I like 20 myself. I have tried 18, 24 and 20. 20 is perfect. plants receiving 20 did better than 18 every time. testing was done with only one strain tho over a few year period, indiga strain. I don't know where the point of diminishing returns is. maybe 21 is even better. someday I will test again . a lot could be strain dependant. what works well for one strain might not work as well for others.but I know for sure our plants can utilize more than 18. go visit Yukon in alaskaLOL and look at summer gardens recieveing extended light period.i will never run 18 again myself. theres nothing wrong with 18 but I don't do anything half ass an 18 is outdated cycle IMHO

For veg state I have always run my lights on 24/0...

Some will argue a plant needs some darkness to grow, but it's never caused me any problems and I get fast growth ...

Cheers for replies guys, I've run 24/7 under CFL's with no probs, it's electricity costs that I'm trying to keep down so if yields are not affected by cutting down to 20 or 18 then why not, goodluck.
