Whats the difference...and is the extra cost worth it?

So is there only one 1k HPS Hortilux than? local grow shop sells these also for around $90.00

Without knowing what the K ratings(color spectrum) of different bulbs its hard to compare.
Without a particular bulbs PAR (Parabolic Aluminized Reflector) in laymen terms the light that plants utilize,PAR chart I do think is what that matters the most.
Most of us know that MH are mostly blue and have anywhere from 4200-6500 Kelvin rating .
HPS are mostly reds with 2100-3000 K ratings.
On another note it looks like Hortilux boxes now resemble Plantmax hmm I wonder if they ate each other.
These days when looking at different bulbs I prefer 400W MH for veging with a 6500 K rating and 1000 W HPS at 2100 K for bud sets .
