What's the best premade system for hydro similar to krusty buckets?

I'm looking for something that will handle good sized plants 90-115 days old at the end of the growth cycle. The plants will be scrogged and that is why they'll be seeing 30+ days of veg. I currently run an aeroponic setup, but it's a bit noisy for my apartment. You can hear the vibrations from the pump through the walls, even with a towel under it. I don't mind spending up to $500 on a system. It will only be for 12 plants.

I saw a system at discount hydro that looked okay, but it only had 2 gallon grow chambers. Maybe I could buy a controller and make the buckets.

you're not seriously thinking of scrogging K buckets right?

30 days of vegging and scrogging "k buckets" is a very bad call IMO.

not to mention if you're going to scrog, it's not really a K bucket or were you thinking of trying a vertical C-scrog? be interesting to see but i think you'd have an amazing hard time pulling it off in a true KBS system

remember that KBS isn't really just about the buckets. it's about the entire growing evironment from vertical/unshaded side lighting to temps to ventilation to CO2.

that said, there really aren't any systems out there that are similar to the actual bucket part of the k buckets. waterfarms and the ebb and grow are kind close but you wont see nearly the growth rate.

what kind of space and lighting are you planning on working with? co2 etc?

The Multi flow is an ebb and flow bucket system. I would agree with Bruce that this isn't KBS. KBS seems to be a really well thought out recirculating DWC, but thats just the buckets. The show shebang is needed to get the kind of results that you see in the great KBS threads.

If you want to do an ebb and flow bucket system I'd say build it yourself. For what they are charging you can do it and have cash left over to get more lights, which is the #1 way of increasing yeild, imho. Some notes on how to improve the multi flow: raise the buckets that the plants sit in by at least a few inches. This will give you more speedy nutrient drainage, which will discourage salt up and improve aeriation. Use a 5 or 6 gallon bucket for the controler to make up for this, because if you raise controler theres no drop for water flow. A 6 gallon controler will let you get the plant buckets a foot off the ground while still flooding to the right level.

Keep your res covered. You can get thoes big blue barrels from chinese resturants who get soy sauce in them. Cut the top off and flip it over for a cheap and quick lid.

Best of growing!

Well said. Scrogging a KBS system would be a bad idea and basically defeats the entire purpose of the growing method

If you want a KBS system you basically need to build it or modify an existing bucket system.
