What's supposed to happen after you tell a chick you are in love with her?

My buddy just told his best friend he is in love with her. Basically she said she suspected it, and started calling him honey sweety that kinda shit. Converstaion went on without issue. I told him he is gold then, but he is convinced he fucked up. Honestly I am the one that told him to tell her, now he thinks I told him the wrong thing to do. Whatcha think?

I think we need some information. Did your friend just say this to get some ass? Or does he actually love her?

Well, first year you have no complaints because you're getting some ass.

Everything after that involved you cursing yourself for ever saying anything because now you're stuck with old ass and you want some new ass.

Its a pretty wierd story. They dated for like 5 months, she dumped him was kinda a bitch over it. Then they started talking again and then it was talking all the time. The literally talk on the phone a few times a day. His phone broke the other day, and he didn't get a new one for 4 days. She left like 15 messages, called him like thirty. by the end of it she was screaming at him and his voicemail about he better answer his fucking phone. I told him a casual friend like what they were supposed to be wouldn't act like that. Actually I said I wouldn't call your dumbass that much. And he should just tell her he is in love with her and stop being a pussy. She is single he is single, why the hell not I figured.

....yes I did.....is that not an American coloquialism that infers physical love?

If he did not get any pussy after those 5 months, I would tell him to move on. Even if he did already say he loved her. It is not like saying 'I love you' signs your life away. It is time for your buddy to move onto to other girls, imo.

If she is leaving messages screaming at him, screaming at someone who is allegedly just a friend...the situation is already icky enough. If she's already that possessive with someone that she's not even going out with, bringing that word "love" into the situation should make it....hmm....maybe 10,000 times worse? Give or take a few. Sounds like a couple of co-dependants ready to get their depend-on.

Oh man... she sounds like a winner. You just set your friend up for an ulcer. Then again, some guys are into that kind of controlling bullshit. I used to have a buddy who I would play video games with and his girlfriend would call him and I could hear her screaming over the phone... this was all the time... and he usually just quietly would say "I gotta go" and slink away to go do some shit with her which usually was just listen to her bitch at him about him or bitch to him about her friends.

Personally, even 6 years into it as I am now, if my girlfriend ever started getting like that, I'd be gone no question. She probably doesn't act that way because she knows it as well.

But like I said... some dudes are into that... dont know why

her deal was she thought he was ignoring her or hurt. Thats the story. The guy is head over heals in love with her. They didn't talk for a year and started talking again maybe a year ago. He is gonna be pissed at me I guess, meh well.

Sounds more like he is too afraid to lose her and get on with his life. Diggle called it, dependence.

You slowly die inside.
You say goodbye to your old life.
You meet the in-laws
You slowly start to despise the in-laws

...and that's as far as I've gotten in the good ole "Book of Life". Anyone read some of the other chapters?
