Hey guys, i have some mother plants growing out (SLH) and this is my first time growing... i am trying to keep costs of mothers cheap so i used cheap off the shelf miraclegro tomato food mixed 1/2 strength for one of the girls as a tester. the other one i did not feed

Why is this plants leaf growing in a V shape? it wasn't doing it before i fed it.... the plant food is 18-18-21.....

vs the one that didn't get any food, the leaf staying flat

if your talking about the leaves pointing up instead of drooping then theres nothing to worry about, they should do that when their not needing h2o.

It's fine bro...they look completely healthy. The first one is a bit underfed and the second is overfed.

this might be true due to the light and darker coloration of the plants, but it also looks like the white balance is different in the 2 photos

really don't want to appear aggressive but you really got to chill firius...you've just opened a thread in this same section some hours ago where you seemed panicked about obviously healthy seedlings...just read what people answered you (me included)...you didn't even got there to say thank you to all the icmagers who took the time to answer you...patience man, patience and keep that nervous-easy panicking away...peace & lots of weed man........

I only really posted for information, not panic. Also the thread posted previously about a seedling showing signs of weird growth i was concerned about being inferior genetics. These are completely different plants but i appreciate (?) the time you took to post that... I figured perhaps the growing style one plant is now exibiting over the other might be from overfeeding the plant more P or K then it needs as my understanding is veg plants only really need N-P

The coloration between the two plants is almost identical with the first picture actually being abit darker than the second.

All i am trying to do is gain knowledge here, i am ordering a book or two on growing (just for toilet reading) but i still think the wealth of knowledge in this forum far exceeds that in any book. I didn't mean to piss anyone off by posting this i just wanted to know why its deeper green in coloring and growing differently after feeding... Deeper green means more N, the Growth though is where i ask seasoned growers what my plant is doing.....

Also for the record i always thank those i receive help from.

Firius, the way to feed when you are just starting off is not by considering each nutrient separately, or using general purpose fertilizers such as yours whose ratios are off, but just buying pre-mixed nute packages (I use Botanicare CNS17) which have separate veg, bloom, and ripe. Then feeding the plants is quite simple, you just go by the chart on each bottle. You mix up a bucket of water with nutes in the optimum concentration (I find 2/3 strength works great for 95% of strains) and water with that same mixture every time you water the plants (once a day.)

As you've noted, one plant is light green, the other is dark green, with the dark plant being overfed and the light one on the verge of underfeeding, with growth undoubtedly slowing. Water them both with the same 1/2-2/3 strength mixture every day, and before long both plants will be a perfectly healthy green and growing at the optimum rate.

I've noticed that sometimes you can post something and not get the rapid reply one wants and kinda panic, but you have to realize that this site is world wide and ppl don't all get on here at the same time. It may take a day or so to get several replys I have found, and I'm a rookie here, that any question you ask you will get an answer. It may or may not be the answer your're looking for or want and you still have to do a little research,(never take any answer as the gospil without a little checking). There are many here that are masters at this and many that are not. You have to decide. :plant grow:

No worries because you have beautiful plants!!! :)
The first photo shows the signs of feeding. The second begins to feel hungry.
My two cents.

......Are we looking at the same two pics bro? Your monitor upside down maybe? No offense....but I don't see how you could draw this conclusion. Are my monitor colors totally whacked out? (Hmm......looks normal on everything else.....)

Escume me funny Mister gingerale,
we are talking about plants or monitors? What you think about the meaning "V shape" cited by Firius?
