Lot's of bright people are attracted to Cali because of the lifestyle. The pace seems faster. People are always looking for the next best idea. If you can make it in Cali, you can make it anywhere.

If you are an outdoor person, I could hardly think of a better place in the US, nay, the world to live. Literally everything from surfing to snowboarding to hiking, treking, camping, fishing, hunting and more all on world class levels imo. Yosemite, redwoods, central coast, San Diego, northern coast/forests, Mojave, Sierra Nevada, southern cali beaches(and bitches):dance013:

However, the cost of living is expensive. Sadly, in most urban/metropolitan areas the below is true.

your quality of life in cali is dependant on your income.

... If you can make it in Cali, you can make it anywhere...

Yeah, i'd say that's true too! If you want to move to CA, come with a livelihood and a plan in hand. And get ready for the fun, truly is an awesome place to live.

Oh, and sometimes the people/traffic/smog sucks. Comes with the popularity of the state. It'll drive you crazy.:bashhead:

I've been in Cali for my whole life.. I'm leaving asap. Can't afford it, I don't think being near the beach is worth it... Thinking about Colorado but I gotta make sure I can grow legally or I'll end up staying. I can pick up 5 acres of some shitty desert CA land for 6k at the moment. There's great places here and wastelands, all depends on where.. Like was said earlier you'll never hear the same opinion twice, just too damn big for a cookie cutter cali experience.

San Francisco is pretty sweet once you get used to the sky high rents, 10% unemployment.

Pluses are minimum wage is $10.25, city wide low cost health care(Healty San Francisco) great weather and it's a big little city you don't need a car.

San Francisco is where mmj started( I was one of the many volunteer signature gathers for Prop215 in 1996)

Jah bless you-you are one of the good ones-I gotta get out of the SE-and cali, even with all its problems, seems very humane-the minumum wage and low cost health care seem great to me:dance013:

Im in Cali.
On occations I take my bike and go to a BART station. I take my bike right on the train, into SanFrancisco. I ride up and down the hills of SanFrancisco towards Mc'Cormicks, in Ghirardelli square, where I lock up the bike and have blue point oysters on the half shell, then whatever I want for dinner, lobster, fresh salmon, Fresh Halibut. Then I Head out, north, Onto the Golden Gate Bridge. And spark a dube. Just dont advertise it.

Interesting thread. At 52 years years of age and a CA native I have some definite opinions regarding life in CA. Of course, every "opinion" is subjective. Mine is biased by my views growing up in CA vs the way CA is now...which isn't "rosy".

I've worked in "high tech" all my career from Silicon Valley to SF....neither of those places interest me anymore, nor does the Bay Area where I grew up. Moving to Tahoe and taking a job as the IT Manager for Kirkwood made me loath life in the Tahoe Basin (couldn't wait to leave Lake Tahoe).

Seamaiden and I now live in a rural area in the Sierra Foothills and by and large its...."OK". If a job offer came my way out of state say like Oregon, I'm sure the two of us would definitely consider it.

California has become tarnished.

The Mount Aukum area above Placerville had a bunch of cool growers kicking out the trees in the 70s. My buddy who had grown thai for over a decade, did a Red Lebanese x Afghani cross in 1977. We worked with that strain for over 20 years. He won all grower festivals with it too. No one had anything like it.

Yeah I hear you on "Tarnished" . Ive watched it too. I was born here in the central valley, in the 50s...... LOL. Smoked my first Jay in 1969. Im headed north soon, possibly into southern Oregon

In what way if you don't mind me asking?

I'm curious about this myself.

If it is just about weed, its great BUT there are plenty of close minded fucks here who would LOVE to take your kids, your house, your property, your EVERYTHING if they can.

You can't just have pot plants growing in your front yard and wave at cops and they say "good morning!" and if you can GREAT FOR YOU lol. I have heard and seen of way too many patients/collectives getting raided and if they can prove you made a profit AT ALL they will come and get you card or not.
