Whats happened to the state section?

There appears to be no access to the states area...Rumor is some bad apples have bumped the TOU agreement so many times they[the site owner's] might shut down the whole area FOREVER. I for 1 really enjoy hanging within the boundries of my state of choice and will miss frienships i have made if this rumor becomes reality...Guess we'll have to wait and see.....
Hopefull well get an explaination this time, instead of the poof its just gone approach E.C/out
p.s cant the powers that be just ban the offending parties rather then locking down the whole united states discussion area's?

OK, seems the States Forums are back up. Or what's left of them. If we all stay inside the TOU we'll be fine.

IC does not track or store IPs. Without an IP address, all we can ban is the handle and be on the lookout for similar offenses to pop up under a new name.

I wonder if we should just have state forums for legal med states only, all else can work on getting that done themselves! Soo many gray areas, I liked the state forums because what's legal and condoned here, may not be in another med state. I doubt CO has a farmers market for clones like we do in Clearlake

That was the cause of the problem. People felt the laws of their state trumped the TOU of IC. IC has one set of rules for all members regardless of their location or the laws of their state.

On another note, individual State Forums are still locked up. seems more changes are coming.

When DG first asked me to poke around down here, my reported posts were coming in so fast the server shut me down. "You must wait 45 seconds to post again" and I'm the world's slowest typist. By hours end, I OWNED the Reported Posts forum to the point DG threw up her hands in defeat and said I'm the new mod down there deal with it. This from reporting posts in a SINGLE thread.

Well, apparently I've now inherited an additional 50 forums to mod. Let me say that again: 50 forums:1 mod. There simply isn't time to edit 50 forums on an individual word basis. If I even think I smell a TOU violation, posts, and possibly threads, will be binned in their entirety.

Id be more then willing to help mod in my home state if my services were needed....My resume-ay-yah, is more of a pot-folio then computer geek but i have co -owned operated a small website and helped out with moderator duties in the past on automotive sites.Just puttin it out there..Id really hate to see us lose our local state section,it would make me look else where for other locals to chat with.My 2c...E.C

Yesterday in the U.S states area ,all the states have been locked.NO posting allowed ,Can someone explain whats going on .Will it become unlocked again or have the powers that be decided to ditch the whole united states?

Not trying to instigate anything, just curious tho...how is it that Amsterdam is ok, but Cali isn't...I mean we have a whole Section here for meeting up in the Dam....but are not allowed to post about meet-up events in Cali??

I for one am glad they got closed down, dangerous fookin sheet with LEO on these forums, known fact (!!!!!!) not fear mongering. 29 (if i counted right) states in there and we only have 14 medical ones ?
Sure some if not lots of people abused it and once realized it got shut down. It is always a cool thing knowing your not alone anymore, and can even talk to people right in the next town maybe. Most of ICM users are of a younger crowd and tend not to think about the gestapo tactics our Government/police use against us.
Therefore i submit it is not the fault of the members, no i think it is lack of poor planning or admins part, lack of a mod or several as the case seems to require. And the 29 states thing still gets me ? Can someone please tell me why there is more than the "legal" states please.
Yes i think the states forums should be reopened, but next time lets do a proper go at it OK
