What's Going On Here?

How's everyone doing? Just recently registered with the forum hoping to get some pointers along the way. I need a bit of advice and was hoping some of you could help me out. I would really appreciate it. Not entirely new to hydroponics; I grew in rockwool years back but I am brand spankin new to hydroton and this drip system Im trying out. Let me explain the setup to give a quick overview. Chamber is 2' deep x 3' wide x 5' in height. 400 watt mh which will be switched to hps for flowering of course and it's in a cooling tube reflector I guess you can say. Run on a 24hr slow drip system (have it set to about 1 drip per second) in hydroton and a small fogger and 5" air stone in the bottom of the 16.5 gallon reservoir. Using triple pack nutes from GH, PPM is now around 700 somewhere and i try to keep ph around 6.0 give or take a couple points. light sitting about 18 inches from plants. 3 WW along the back, 1 NLxMK front right, and 2 unidentified strains in the front; middle and left; running from 3-6 inches tall. They are about 3 weeks old from seed. I had a heat issue to where the box was reaching high 90's but recently installed a portable a/c and dropped it down to low-mid 80's. Leaves were yellowing then getting brown spots. Some drooping down or curling; whichever. And a few were folding up along the edges. The problem seems to have gone now but I still would like to know exactly what happened at the time so I can avoid it as much as possible. Any recommendations for anything I should be doing differently at this growth phase? Here are a few pics so you all can see. Will also post pictures of how they look today. Again, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Oh and sorry it's such a long paragraph, I just figured I'd get as much out on the table from the start to avoid quizzing back and forth.

Why can't I upload my pictures?????

pics are in your gallery,.....to me it almost just looks like a N def.
I wouldnt get to worried about it, sounds like you got ur ppms up and it went away...so i would say it was a simple N def.
Good luck !

so you dont think heat had anything to do with it judging by the info. i gave you and the pictures? yes they are doing much better.....i did up the ppms a few hundred and raised the light from about a foot to 18 inches so maybe that was all they wanted. thanks for the tip. oh and by the way....good or bad to grow different strains together? or does it matter? thanks.

ya looks like ph and ppms played a role in this. normal nitrogen deficiency does not have spots so in this case had to of been ppms or ph cause your ph was kinda high

i dont think its bad...but it could be because certain strains can be very picky...
But i grow strains together in my flood tables...havent had to deal with what 1 strain wants and what another doesnt...so unless you know ur dealing with a strain that is just straight up bitchy about how she is cared for i would say it wont matter...

Nah i dont thinks its heat related because heat related issues usually start at the top of the plant if the light is to close...

yes but since you have different strains you may be having battle the entire grow..... all strains are different in care and nutrients

ph is fine...i keep mine in between 5.5-6.5
yah 700 is fine, i would jsut watch em and if they as for more nutes give it to em =]

very quick and prompt responses. thanks guys. i believe i am going to like this place. oh and one more thing....personal opinions on the type of drip system im using? comparables? good bad; better worse?

favorite strains? and can i bring my light closer since it is in that cooling tube or is it fine at 18-20 inches in this size box? i figures it would do fine judging by the size light in the amount of space and its damn near 100% reflective.

you could bring it closer if you want....i usually dont put a 400 any closer then a 10 inches, i say 12-15 inches is good.

a cool tube does work but you will loose some lumens from the glass; not to mention when you have them that close sometimes you will get light burn wher the leaves turn white from being bleached from the radiant light.

i got my 400 about 12 inches away with no cool tube at all, ive never had light bleaching problems...i jsut make sure a fan is blowing on the reflector/light and the plants dont seem to mind at all..

i would say 8 inches and closer is gettin to the danger zone

well i guess its alright where its at cause they dont seem to want to stretch out to the light and in such a small space with all the reflective material 18 inches is keeping the nodes fairly close together and makes them nice and bushy so far. thanks again guys. they're lookin great. ill keep you posted.
