At the moment I most often listen Willie Nelson's "Red headed stranger", "phases and stages", or Bill Frisell's "Nashville" album, or the nice soundtrack of "O brother", or to the Notting Hillbillies first (and only) album.

Kris Kristofferson, Waylon, Hank Williams, Fuck Hank jr tho..
Merle Haggart, Willie Nelson, Highwaymen was good, who could forget ghostriders.. Bob Dylan is great, more of a singer/songwriter then a actual country western guy but he contributed a lot too.
Could go on 4 ever..

Johnny Cash (R.I.P.) tops the list tho. We need more ppl like him on this planet.

Not a lot of new guys out there worth lissenin imo.
Boneheads like Garth Brooks.. No wonder kids shy away from good old country music and lissen to shit like 50 cent :chin:

:woohoo: :bat:

Good taste gnosis, Red headed stranger is a favorite of mine as is the "O brother" sound track and movie, I rarely run into folks that know of either.

I tend to like "outlaw" country and Bluegrass-

Im not a fan of 99% of country at all. especially modern country music.
however, when I'm drinking I can listen to Johnny Cash, The Highwaymen, Hank 3, Johnny Rebel, Charlie Daniels, Corb Lund Band. thats about it

the song 'highwaymen' by the highwaymen is probably my favourite country tune
