What would you x with og

I know theres got to be a lot of crosses to og out there and im wondering what is the best one to get the yield up but reatain that patened og smell and flavor as well the high. I really havent heard much about kushage or any other of the major seed companys efforts with this keeper strain.

Why not a close relative, that is easily obtainable.
ECSD ibl, should do the trick, nicely.

The first cross would be a nice blend of the two, do another cross of the prodgeny...... and well you might find a lot of nice things!

My favorite cross with OG is OG X Kali Mist. All I have done is smoked this one and it has always stood out to me. Wish I had one growing myself.

Well actually here is what I did. (am doing)
Take the ECSD clone and outcross it to an amazing mothers finest male.
(instead of Somas' hermi nycd male)

(Mother's Finest is more a Hazey offshoot of the Jack Herer line, with her sweet-sour flavour rush and ecstatic cerebral high - represents the Haze-dominant side of the family, is best understood as a purposeful fine-tuning of Jack Herer’s multi-faceted gene pool. (from sensi web site and is prettynear what it is like, go figure...)

take the best male from there, cross it back to the ECSD, and call it Fine D.

Then cross fine D to Bubba Kush and look for a branchy "budddy"(tm) male.

then cross that to OGK.

i love your imaganation sounds tastie. i dont know what it would do for yield though. i have crossed with bubba male from 3c and crossed a hermie og back to a stinkey pinkey x ecsd that is deisel dom. and have 4 of jlp deisel ibl x og sould be a good summer. But i really think to get the yield up i would like to cross og to a very fat budded afgan such as afgooie.

Exactly, chron,
my fineD is a giant sativa.
So far, the mothers finest greatly increased yeald of the SD. without decreasing quality, (really)
So far, the fine D (SDXMF) increased the yeald of the bubba a lot. (gets the bubba to yeald like the sd)
So now, just the buddy (SDXMFXBK) male needs to meet the OGK.
(already did a fineD, and a fine G to the OGK, and a deep chunk)(just forming seeds now)
Buddy is great by itself, only grew one out without clone, wish I had cloned it.
But siblings should be similar, I have 8 going now, looks like two males. I'll see which one can go the longest without showing balls( I also want the male to have good branching and not be single column), I'll reduce light slowly and let the last one to cum have the OGK. LOL!

Other crosses with the OGK might turn out good or bad, I just feel buddy will have the best chance to come out an "improved" OGK and let me have access to OGK genes in the future (just in case).

Still might all turn to shit at some time, but these are the genes I was dealt (lucky) and I have a desire to save them, MF seems to be the male to start it all for me; its' flavor adds something to each cross, it's wicked potent, adds vigor and is not hempy at all in crosses.... whew!
I have done my fair share of crummy croses, don't get me wrong.
and it sure takes a long time to see what turns out good and what turns out bad.

actually anything to the OGK prolly would end up great.

and ya get to smoke your mistakes!

But I need to pick a Haze male first.
I'll probably cross it with the SFV OG too.

Nothing. Anything else will take away from a superior strain. You may bump up yield, but you will sacrifice quality. This is the one strain that I would never cross....

Why bother..? Nothing will improve on it... If it is the real OG, of course.

always icy the reason to bother is like i said to get the yield up. i agree its great smoke but the yield is just not good enough. that was my whole reason for starting the thread. im sure you have tried some crosses be civil and share with us.

the ssh sounds like it could be the one. i have never grown it how does it grow and yield.
