What would YOu grow?

I finally finished my Satori grow.

All I can say so far is that the seeds seem to be worth the money.

To get some refreshment, I´m gonna harvest the last buds, clean everything up and start a new grow.

I could get my hands on some decent clones in about two weeks.

15 Euros per clone is pretty much, but on the other hand, it´s a nice sign to see a shop selling clones again anyway...

Unfortunately I can not tell you about the strains as my current clone seller gets cuts from different sources.

This grow will not be big at all.

Just a few plants grown indoors, nothing spectacular.

But I wanna make the best out of it.

My plan is to sprout some Sativas seeds, and keeep them under 24/7 flouro(warm white/cool white) for the next 2-3 weeks, and then combine them with freshly bought clones(Mostly Sativa or Sat/Indi hybrids..) to send them straight into flowering mode in the growroom.

Seeds I can choose from:

- Senegal Sativa:

I tried this indoors 2 years ago.

Germed only one seed and it turned out as a male(too "busy" to collect the pollen/shame on me, this pheno was quite "Indica" looking somehow, but not like an Afghani.

- Mexican Brickweed:

I know for many among us this sounds pretty awful.

But I grew out some plants from those seeds before, outdoors on my balcony.

Took a long time to finish and had to be brought indoors because of coming frost, nonetheless the final product was spicy sweet with a very light green, blonde colour.

Mellow, giggly high.

I mean, it really causes the giggles.

I allready discovered this when testing the brick.

But it was even stronger in my homegrown version.

Really nice spicy woody and sweet smell, blonde buds, sticky appeal, and a very mellow high that puts a smile on your face, with zero paranoia, just good feelings.

- ZamalXSpecial Skunk from "Femal Seeds":

So called feminzed strain.

I don´t know how they actually produce their "female" lines, but I grew a few Shaman(Dutch passion "feminized") plants on my Balcony during last Outdoor season.

No hermies at all.

First I was disappointed by the look and smell, but after a 4 month cure, they show their real potential....

I allways wanted to grow the Zamal, or a Zamal based cross, so why not test this one, even tough I still feel skeptical when I hear or read "feminized".

- "Mandi Thai":

Named after the nickname of the buddy who once gave me those seeds, along with a bit of the bud they came from.

He only stated this was Thai.

As he drank much Alcohol and shot a lot of Coca Cola during that time, my guess is that he forgot about even having given them to me.

I grew some of those seeds out on my balcony.

I got two females.

The first one totally looking like a typical Sativa, christmas tree shape, surprisingly fast flowering but very airy buds with an extremely, allmost rotten sweet smell, that turned into a strong woody menthol during the cure.

Mellow high, warm feelings but too less for me, because I was on extremely potent modern hybrids during that time.

The second pheno was very short, but with typical Sativa shaped habitus at the same time.

It took longer than the taller pheno, and developed very hairy buds that reminded me of the best Kali Mist I grew back then.

The smell was light but pleasantly spicy.

There was not much christal coverage, very light dust of small trichomes that were barely visible to the naked eye.

But only a few tokes of that led me straight into cartoonland.

Like the bud it came from, but even stronger.

Totally clear, all in the head, very psychedelic...

That´s it so far...

Please help me share among those genteics, and keep in mind that I only wanna gro 5-7 plants in total.

Well, I smoked a decent amount of 3YERAS cured Mexican, and what can I say?

I´m surprised by the smell, the taste and even the effects.

I allways thought the bricks were laced with soething to make them smell better, because this smell was too good to be true.

As I harvested my homegrown Mexican I was pretty satisfied with the results, but I thought to myself:

"Well this is not Mexico, the smell is completely different, but most likely it´s added perfume anyway.."

My believe was that the bud was stronger, because I took more care about it, and the smell of the brick was a fake.

No about 30 minutes ago, I opened an old bag with some of those buds left.

The smell is the same as in the brick it came from.

Not as pronounced(they were lying around in a plastic bag for 3 years..), but clearly an evidence that this special smell is not a matter of the growing climate but develops after a longer cure.

You won´t believe it, but I´m pretty high at the moment.

Well...

Well...

Yeah, the Mexican is on my list :joint:

It still forces me to giggle.

Very mellow and happy buzzing going on.

Highway weed(imagine driving along in your big 60s style VW bus, smoking this stuff, and while being totally under control, still having this grin on your face and a brighter vision)

Wel....

Wel....

I elaborated my list a bit...

Clones:

3 good Sativa Indica hybrids if I´m lucky enough. They offered some Nebula in January and all the clones looked healthy...

Seeds that are going to germ(hopefully):

3 Kali Mist

1 ZamalXSpecial Skunk

2 "Mexican Brick"

I didn´t mention the Kali Mist before, because for me it is a MUST HAVE.

The Zamal will most probably take a very long time, and not give much yield, but I guess this could with the help of Jesus Christ, my love and my green thumb become a pretty good ride.

And the Mexican:

I really don´t know where this was originally grown.

Acapulco Gold comes to my mind when I look at the colour, but- I don´t care about names that much anyway...

This was maybe just a lucky brick.

This is a strong, but all the way natural high.

And it definitely improves with a longer cure.

Yeah - to me too
:chin:

And I don´t wanna get rid of the KM.

This is a bud that spiced up many holidaze...

The clones should be for fast flowering and high yield of potent buds, while the Sativas grown from seed are straight headstash fo the nostalgic Cannabis lover :yummy:

Gonna go to bed now in a very happy and natural mood.

Can´t believe what this bud has done to me.

3 years stored in the same place, and nonetheless way stronger than it was when freshly cut...

Gonna go to bed now and listen to the birds singing their morning celebration while inhaling the cool but fresh air of such a strange winter morning.

No snow(only way up in the mountains)...

I love any Kali type strain, they get nice branching and always a nice up high so my call is KaliMist by a mile.

I'm a sativa lover myself but being a closet grower I usually stick to indicas or half/half blends of ind/sat.

What type of soil mix do you use?

Oh, I understand...

Yes, I´m a Sativa lover too.

What I don´t like are the racy ones that can cause panic attacks.

Senegal seems to be really interresting.

Too interresting to sacrifice the few seeds I have for a grow like that.

As with the Dalat, I decided to grow it as soon as I have enough time and patience to only grow this particular strain, and make my observarions and experiments.

Those are the seeds I chose:

1 ZamalXSkunk Special: "feminzed" seed

3 Kali Mist

1 coming from brickweed (most likely Mexican/the one I mentioned above in this thread..)

1 Coming from so called Trava:

(Nice seeded reddish brown cured Marihuna I got in Croatia 2 years ago)

This could be weed grown in Croatia or Ablania, but it could also be imported.

I found a few traces of very fine strings in this bud, which could be an indication that this
small sample came from a stick, like they are produced in Thailand and India(India is
a hot tip, because the people there seem to have good connections to India, often
pretty big batches from Malana(great hash, makes you feel so warm and
comfortable, really great high)

Whatever it is.

It looks like typical old school Sativa, it has a spicy scent,- so why not give it a try?

Peace,

Kali Mist for sure... great choice... I have a pack just waiting to pop... but dont know when I'll get around to it.

Have heard good things about Zamal genetics... though I'm not real big on feminized seed... but you never know till you grow them out and smoke them. Hope you find a winner.

The brick... hmmm... bag seed is always a crapshoot... but who knows... grown out right with a lil loving... you may find your best girl in that mix.

Good luck finding something special.

I would do the Zamal cross and the Senegalese

both should/could have a clean and elegantly focused high, powerful but without paranoia

Senegal has a centuries old growing tradition, as does La Reunion - they should produce classy sativas

I have some Senegal Haze on the way - very excited about it

the Senegalese sativas I smoked in Italy (bought in by some Rastas) were very nice
