What would you do with 4'x4'x5' and 1000w?

Ok, im just finishing up my first grow in my new place. It wasnt bad, looks like its gonna be some dank. I should pull close to a pound. But I think I could of been more efficient about it. So, I have 1000w air cooled hps, 4'x4' with a little less than 5' of headroom. Last time, I ran about 10 plants in this, and tied them over and vegged a little over a month. In the end, I had a little extra space around the edges. So, what would you guys suggest to maximize my yeild/efficency of this space? What type of pruning, which style (sog, scrog, etc). I want to stick with soil for now aswell. All constructive comments and questions are welcome and appreciated! Thanks guys.

Personally i would LST. Makes for great bushy plants with multiple tops and evens out the canopy so the plants get maximum light. And im sure if you were to LST those small empty spaces would be taken up by the multiple tops you will be getting.

I grow in around the same space same size...it sounds like you did the rite thing last time... LST/TOPPING IS AWESOME!! I LOVE IT!! I like to veg-> top-> lst->...
untill I get some nice flat bushes....then i throw em under 12/12.....

but ya you seem to have it down...my next thing is to make sure my RH is perect and get a humidifier..because my A/C drys up my air...

i'd look into a 2 week veg and lst.
you'll yield less but you'll be able to flower more plants in the long run.

Your really restricted with your 4x4 with that big light. Around a pound sounds pretty good for that area.
Example: 1000 watt in a 4x4.




Now 1000 watt in a 7x7.



I will trim lower branches and go for big several oz. top buds if I desire. I use the lower branches for clones

With a 7x7 space that gives you about 49 wpsf. Is that enough to give you tight nugget? Or is it a little fluffy? I think you could probably pull as much with the added light intensity. Its also alot harder to cool tho......... What you have going on in the bottom pic looks like what I wanna try for, with a few less plants tho. Thanks for the words all.

it truly doesnt matter how many plants you have, you can grow 4-6 plants in 7gal or 10gal containers and top accordingly. the bigger the plant the larger the buds I used to grow out 10 plants in a 4x4 but now just 4-6 with more yield big plants=bigger buds in my opinion but you should use a SonAgro MH during veg and first week to two weeks of flowering to keep the stretching down. But it does depend on the strain you dont want a Thai Sativa in a 7gallon you have to use common sense but for most indica/sativa crosses bigger is better

Fuck i missed is the "FIM" technique, instead of taking off the whole new node coming up in the top you cut off 90% or it, and ive heard you can get up to 8 different new tops, ive only got up to 5.

LST is a technique where you tie the plant down from the main top so its basically horizontal. (i start to do it right when the plant goes to 12/12) Then a shoot will take over as the new top, then you can tie that down and keep tieing shit down until you are happy. And you come out with a short bushy plant with many tops, very cool.

Topping is when you take off the entire top, leaving behine what looks like a wierd plant with the shoots left. Now since the plant has no top the 2 shoots that are left will take over and now your left with 2 top colas instaed of one, this process can be repeated to have 4, then 8 ect.

when i LST i never untie and allways daily adjust each branch in my gallery you'll find towards the end a tutorial saved from overgrow i think Big_Buddha is the author. easy pics and words to follow, fim tutorial from OG also there i can pull nice tight nugs with 50w per sqft. i currently have a 1k hps in 7x5 floor space approx 6-7ft head room my modded stanely blower fan dose a fine job cooling the cooltube and 1k oh yea a 4inch carbon scrubber is hooked upto cooltube also. i could run 1.4k hps but i dont wanna break out the portable A/C unsure what my power bills in new house are yet lol. look for pontaic's linkorama for tones of info in the growroom designe section here theres a link in my sig for this

Well I would actually do sea of green in that space for sure man.My friend does 64 plants per 1000 watt light and goes straight on 12 hours.No veg ever at all,from teeny little clones,and gets 2 lbs per 1000 watt consistently every time with soil and Gh 3 part ferty,in 7-8 weeks every time.
It looks like a sea of popsicle buds...and no veg makes things nice.
Thats what I would do...maybe use different ferty though...I dont care too much for the gh 3 part.But it does work very well.Seems to make all the pot smell the same tho..maybe its my imagination.Heres 72 plants under 6 1000 watts that im doing now....with fox farm soil and nutes.

Right on man. Yeah, I always planned on doing SOG, but the more I thought about it the more I changed my mind. I dont have space to do my own clones atm, and I wanna keep my plant numbers low so I can stay within the guidlines of my city. Damn I wish outside of city limits

Wow, that looks like its gonna be huge for ya. Your gonna pull nicely on that. Just watch out for that nasty mold! Gets atleast one of my buddys around these parts every year.

thats nice man ! ive really got to get my shit together .ive just started some new ones in ff soil.my new plan should work well,,,but im hoping to bring the sick ones back around. they were flushed well and added tiger bloom. no luck yet.how many days should it take? will they come back?,,,,,and will it just be new growth? or will the fucked up leaves come back and look good again? doesnt look like it now.
