what will happen to the price of marijuana in Colorado when it's (state) legal?

If you pay cheap prices you most likely will get cheap Sh*t......Does not concern us private growers one bit...........I grow three strains only.......DWC - purple, white widow and Aroura Indica........These are for me, my friends and to party on...... and I have been known to leave you under the table.....

Its still governed by the Feds......States can pass all they want, but until it is not a Federal Offence you are only going to get what you pay for....

Wasn't attacking you personally, I was just making a statement using phrases you already put put there. But from the sounds of it, you have a rather frail ego. Whats the point of you then bitchin about prices if this is your situation? You are now implying that the thread topic obviously doesn't apply to you.

Oh, and maybe if you grew the same plant twice, you could actually dial in a plant's needs correctly. Wait, let me guess, you are SO GOOD at what you do, that everything is dialed guaranteed on the first round?

ROFL!!

yea, im the best grower in the world!! wanna argue about it?? lol, I wasnt bitching about prices, just reporting what I know, I am not a seller either, I am a hoarder of jars!!!

Thanks for "getting it" lol

I wish I knew you well enough to share...I'm the guy that lets the tourists hit my pipe in the parking lot lol.

I wish we had a farmers market type setup for marijuana, then we could all share!

Thats the beauty of A64. As its written now, it will not outlaw a farmer's market model. Every single person growing 6 plants will lead to surplus, making only the best of the best be worth anything.

I'll be there with free samples for all!

back to the pricing discussion...Like I said before, I dont sell but know plenty who do and I cant really see prices making a huge jump in either direction, the way it is now, some people pay $20 a gram while others pay 2 or 3 dollars for the same gram.

With the new laws in effect I think prices will remain stable but the amount of people paying $20 a gram will decrease. quality aside, quantity will increase and slowly drive the price down, even for quality stuff...

Okay, so lets do some math. The average at home grower who is quality focused has a production cost of around $600-800 per pound. Even if we drop down to $2k per lb, there will still be a considerable profit margin. Dispensaries that pump hard out of warehouses are subject to economies of scale. All things considered, estimations prove that CO dispensaries produce at an expense of around $1-2 per gram, if they sell grams for $3 to 5 dollars, they still profit, although considerably marginalized and have to sell a larger retail quantity to make anything. So not much room or motivation for the dispensaries to lower prices any further. They bottomed out because they got bigger, but cost of production is always a factor.

Unless we see an era of mega-greenhouses cranking out top quality, prices will stay put.

Yep... I know a busload of growers around here that would love to have their crap "A" rated.

Anyone tried the crap you can get from HCH2 in Alma? LOL I'm sure they still have that High Times article about themselves on their counter... when you walk in. *gack*

There's gonna be cheap crap available commercially. Yep. People are gonna smoke the crap outta it like they swill coors and budwieser.

It will be a long road... but once the public in colorado is educated on what 'quality' actually is, the attitude toward cannabis by the average joe will be significantly more positive than it is now.

Did get to share some Durbin Poison that was grown from Clones out of there. Nothing at all to criticize. Might need to try one or two if I run into the seeds. Looking forward to some AK-47 now. Always did like 7.62 caliber...

I would love to start a growers club. Just like the Home Brew clubs around here. Sharing, learning and buying bulk supplies together.

The nice tasting parties, all without the worry of the blue meanies kicking in the door.

Growing and selling multi-packs is still going to be federally risky, never been my bag anyway.
The price will drop for locals in CO. and stay at current gangster prices for the rest of the non med USA.

All I want is to be left the hell alone.

I need to go West.

Yay another troll!!

selling dope as you so ghetto'ly put it is illegal and while the theoretical discussion of what may or may not happen to pricing should be ok here encouraging someone to break the law is childish and immature but your join date says everything...

smoke better weed and you wont be so hostile:)

I am gonna go out on a limb here and predict 3 dollars a pound by 2014(50 cents for an oz.) and expect Cannabis vending machines in Walmart by 2015.

Since they changed their setup and every schmoe off the street walks past them to get to the counter? No way.

I don't buy clones from untrusted sources anyway.

How could I criticize Durban Poison? HCH2 didn't have anything to do with that. LOL That they carry the clones... well, so do a lot of people.

Occasionally they get some stuff through there from a grower that kinda knows what they're doing. Mostly it's just early picked, over-nuted, DUSTY buds that (after a couple months in their jars on the shelf) are often moldy. *sigh*

I quit dealing with them over a year ago. Tasted their stuff again recently... WTF is that oil they spray on it? *sigh*

Whatever. LOL They're not getting my cash anymore.

being from an illegal state I often wonder how growers make money from states that are legal......

The same way they do in states that are illegal.

There are legal outlets in states where it's legal though.

Some of them go through all the socialistic paperwork to go on federal radar and open a brick and mortar shop to sell it... others do the paperwork to go on federal radar and sell to those with the shops.

Soon a lot of people will be able to put themselves on federal radar by filling out socialistic paperwork to become a commercial producer or seller of cannabis. :woohoo: Won't that be interesting?

The price? I predict it's going to go up a bit as demand outpaces supply... and then it's going to drop when the commercial end gets really going.

Expect pricing to be very difficult next fall/winter. The market is going to be flooded with crappy outdoor from new growers. This should coincide with the new indoor growers.... 2nd... harvest of the season? If they're lucky?

I see prices going up a bit before then... with the increased demand. Not much, unless there are massive shortages... heh.

By this time next year... things will have stabilized a bit and I'm expecting the price to go back to around what it is right now.

Once the commercial end hits... who knows. LOL There's going to be a huge range of quality. Hopefully some schmoe makes a decent low-strength, sativa based, canna-cap... so I can just buy the damn things off the shelf and be done with it. (Like I could have done 70 years ago)

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:
