What is you're best method for sealing your windows in the grow room. I have 1000hps and don't want the orange bright light to be noticeable!! Any thoughts I appreciate thanks!?!?!
I had a roll of roofing insulation paper; left over from a roof/shingle job. It's thin, cuts easy with scissiors and tacks up easy. 100% light proof....also keeps sun heat from coming in the window.
The best method that I have seen used was to make a box that is slightly larger than the window, and deep enough to leave a set of curtains in the window. This makes it seem like the window isn't "blacked out" and thus avoids any negative attention. I have been working out a way to make one like this and run a small florescent fixture on a timer in it so it appears that the lights in the room are on sometimes. When I first started growing, I used roofing felt to cover the windows, but my mother noticed it on one of her visits and had a bunch of questions for me about it.
kingspan, celotex, foreboard(ridged insulation board). Its well insulated, lightproof and lightweight, i would also use it to clad the whole room.
good luck mate.
peace
I use the black plastic sheeting sold in the p[aint dept. at home depot or lowes. It comes in different mil thicknesses get the thickest.then secure it over you window/opening uising silver tape. Its also called foil tape and is better for this application than duct tape.I have 3 1K HPS in an 8 by 8 room and not a skosh of light escapes
