What to get next?

I have been pondering on what to get for my grow room. Should I get a 600 watt HPS? Or should I go from white walls, to mylar, with CO2? I can only do one or the either so help me out. Which one do you think will be more productive in my garden. By the way I already have a 800 watt MH vegg room. And a 2000 watt HPS flower room with air-cooled lights all around...

^^^^^what he said........ :chin:
damn, 2000W hps.....I'm so jealous!! :yummy:
Yep, sounds like you got plenty of light...break out the CO2.

why switch from white walls to Mylar? Seems like a complete waste of time. I just tore down all my mylar and painted the walls white. I don't have to listen to the rustle of loose Mylar, or look at splatter marks on the mylar, and the room now seems brighter.

Save your money and time and find a better improvement. The Co2 sounds like a good investment.

cheers,

Ok I am keeping my white paint. Now to invest in a C02 tank. Does any one know how much these cost? In the ball park...

From what I've seen, the tank isn't the costliest portion, it's the controller, and I usually see those running around $400 - $600. For that amount of money, you could add 5 to 7 600w ballasts, and I think you'd see more yeild out of an extra 3-4kw than outta CO2.

That is true the controller is the most expensive part however they are available much cheaper than $400. Here's a link to BGHydro's CO2 page. There's a controller for $165/160 depending on which one you need.

I'd go CO2 like others said but it's up to you.

I agree with all of the above... Leave the white walls and go with CO2...
Yer gonna have to post some pics when she's all done and harvested... :D

bah..... here is my suggestion for you...... up your watts..... if its possible, thats one of the only significant limiting factors in generating astronomical yields indoors...... as for the mylar..... as its been said, flat white paint is actually in effect better than the shiny additive..... and on the note of co2...... so many better ways to make co2 for your room that are 100x cheaper than a tank...... so heres what I would do if i were you..... make my flowering room 3000..... run one of my 400 halides in there to increase the overall spectrum buy that 600 you wanted to run..... and make some co2 jugs..... and eventually get a digital parts per million co2 air sensor..... they run like $300, but they are worth it once you are producing a significant enough amount of co2 from the jugs and wish to regulate that...... until then, you can either use co2 jugs, ferment beer, or wine and just calculate the amount of co2 being released and take adequate measures..... just my o2..... hope this helps.....

btw..... fuck the co2 controller.... that limits you to an output of tanked co2..... not as good as naturally upping the levels..... for the same price that parts per million air reader can be picked up and you can experiment with your own co2 methods and still get a reading as to the levels IN the room, not just being expelled from a tank....

Today I bought a parts per million reader. I also have started to brew some of my own beer. Thought beer would make the most profitable idea, since I drink so much of it. Now I am making C02 for my room, while saving money on beer for the weekends. I also bought some 600watt light set-ups, 2 of them for $250 bucks from a friend... Any other suggestions on what to add to the room?

What are you running for medium? Soil or hydro?
If your runnin soil I would say hop over to hydro. Giver er a go.

Hey Rookie, I am growing in soil. I also have three kinds of hydro going. One is my aero cloner for clones of course, then there are some plants that are in a dripper unit with hydroton, and the rest are in some "home made" NFT tubes. I am experimenting with several units to see what works for me the best. But I am having a bit of trouble tracking how much I yield from each different unit any ideas?

do you have a Parts Per Million Air Reader? its like a digital air reader that tells you the co2 in the air in ppms

Yes, it is a digital reader like you said. I also bought a infared temp gun, and a light intensity meter. I am impressed with the technology these days.

As far as hydro goes I would say 5 gallon recirculating dwcs will get you huge yields. Not really that expensive to set up if you do it all yourself.
Take a look at some of the sticky's in the hydro forum here and you may just find something you like... :D
Sounds like it's gonna be green at your house...
Whens the party..

Hopefully its going to be very green. I already know about the 5 gallon dwc. I was thinking about trying it in my old fish tank. Just cover the sides with something, so that light doesn't mess with the growth cycle...Would that work? :chin:
