What to do with store bought clones?

I'm completely new to all this, and on a lark, I decided to buy a clone from the pot store. It didn't come with any instructions. I've been doing some research online, trying to figure out what to do with this thing. Found lots on how to create clones, but not much definitive steps on what to do once you have a rooted clone.

Any good guidelines out there? here's what it looks like now:

I'm guessing I need to replant it in soil (i'm not buying a hydrostation or anything fancy) and then water it regularly? I've already got a fluorescent light I've stuck it under. Do I take it out of the foam? Or plant the foam in soil?

This was only $11, so I'm not taking it SUPER seriously, it's just a fun thing to try out. My goal is to at least not kill the thing, so if it actually buds, that'd be a bonus!

check for bugs.....yeehaw..you can plant that right into soil..don't mess with it...rockwool not foam...give it a mild dose of flowering ferts to help roots get going...like a foliar rate dose...

Learned my lesson. Always dip your clones when you get them with your preferred pesticide in your ipm regimen. Treat them all like theyre infected no matter what. Spray as preventative with something like neem or azamax weekly, more frequent if infested. (I have broad mites and spray something different almost every day)

Next, get a grow bible and read it. Read thru the stickys here on the forum. Or if you're not a reader theres youtube.

Welcome to the mag you've come to the right place.

Most bagged soils will have plenty for that girl to eat for about a month. When she does get hungry stick to a basic npk. Brand matters not. Forget all those additives and promises in a bottle. No need for an 11 bottle line up.

Has the clone rooted out the cube?, (before you pot it up) it does not look like it from my view... personally i would carry on feeding it threw the cube (rockwool) making sure to give it a gently squeeze after feeding her, pot up with ample rootage-(developed system of roots)...

I see great things for the little plant.

It will spawn massive pleasureable hallucinations and multiply into a mighty forest.

Just make sure your pet doesn't eat it.

The first question you have to ask yourself is how dedicated will you be to the success of this clone you bought? If you want this to be a successful adventure then you will have to invest some money. Here are my suggestions. Of course first is to get the plant into soil. I highly recommend using a fabric pot. What size pot depends on what size plant you want grow. If you're wanting to keep it simple then just buy some miracle grow potting soil. For better results you would buy a pre made soil mix and then buy nutrients. If you want real buds you will really have to buy a more intense light. You can get a used H.I.D for like $100-200, new is 300-500. You could buy an LED light but they are more expensive. What light you want to buy depends on how big you're wanting to grow this plant. These are 3 major factors you will have deal with and contemplate first before moving forward. To be honest if you're not willing to invest in lighting, soil and nutrients then you may as well not even try.
Not wanting to be a killjoy but it is the truth.

Hey now! :)
It's actually doing quite well. I picked up a cheap $8 led full spectrum grow light, and it seems pretty happy with that. I just transplanted it this morning, and the roots seem to have taken off quite well!

So, things are ... no longer doing very well. It was growing fine, but not really filling out the way I wanted it to. So I did some research, and decided that maybe it needed some fertilizer. (I bought B52 from amazon).

I don't know what I did, maybe didn't dilute it right, or gave it too much, but it damn near died. almost every leaf curled up and fell off, except for a few on the top.

So I stopped fertilizing it, and just went back to plain water. Now, it is growing again, and I've got new leaves and stems on the top, but it looks like the rest of the plant is dead.

Is there any hope for this guy? Will the base of the plant ever grow again? Or should I put it out of its misery?

B-52 is an addative not a base nutrient. I would start over. You need a place to put the clone when you want to flower. You need absolute dark 12 hours a day for the plant to flower. If you can't provide that put it in a 5 gallon pot and put it outside. An 8 dollar light won't get you anything significant. You get what you pay for.

I spent 3 months reading every page of the new growers section here before I ever got a clone. Success in growing is a challenge. The grow bibles are OK. They are woefully lacking current info though. I wish you the best and am not trying to put you down or discourage you. There is a reason great growers are great. The reality is its a lot of hard work.

I know I should start over, but I'm a little emotionally attached to this one now :)

I'm not expecting big buds, or even any buds for that matter. Just want a nice healthy looking plant.

Is there no way to get leaves to grow again on all those dead looking branches? Should I cut those off and hope they will regrow?
