What to do with pollinated buds?

Hi all,

I'm 10 days shy of my harvest date (8 weeks) and have found seed pods in the buds in all of my plants. Is it best to let them run their course or chop them down now and try to harvest what I have?

How many plants ? If your willing to do the work let them finish and make some hash/oil.. Did they hermie??

Nothing wrong with pollinated buds.
Smoke can be just as good, plus you get all those seeds.

Is 5 plants, started from fem seeds. I'm positive one hermied, and am pretty sure I plucked a seed out of a cola on another plant. Would one plant that has hermed, pollinate the rest? Thanks for answering so fast man.

I was under the assumption that if they were pollinated, the plants would start to develop more seeds, and stop bud production. Is this incorrect? If my assumption is correct than shouldn't I chop now to harvest the most bud? Thanks Retro!

Absolutely 1 nanner can dust a lot of plants ....Yes the plants will put all there energy to seed production but they still get very frosty depending on strain.. You don't want immature bud.. If you let them finish even with seeds they will be better

So if I wanted to harvest more for smoking purposes, and less for hash and or oil making, should I chop now or continue to let the seeds develop? From what I could see, more and more seeds are starting to develop. Thanks HammerHead!!

I would even if you get 100's of seeds the smoke will be better if you let them finish.

Pick em off and eat them. I was pissed when it happened to me and I ate the sons of bitches... made me feel a little better about it and it solved me seed problem. Lol jmo of course

It depends if the quality of the smoke 10days before chopping time is good enough.
I would start flushing and speed up harvest time a little to minimize the damage and start a new run asap.
In my experience usually there is more than one male nana and many times they are well hidden so i always try to bring the affected plants down asap.
This said i totally agree with HH immature bud is now good so check those trichs if possible.

Just so I understand this though - this bud will be filled with seeds? Because it's not yet, (the seeds i found were very small and seemed very immature) and the trichs are almost cloudy. I just want to make the right choice as far as attaining the most smokeable bud. Also, if the buds are no longer putting energy into bud production, because they've turned herm, whats the use of letting them finish if they're just going to produce more seed? Thanks for all the help! Just trying to figure things out, first grow.

You raise the same questions that i did when that happened to me.
Why don´t you harvest the more mature ones asap and leave half of then finish?
That way you will have your own opinion based on personal experience, can´t beat that

Thanks for all your responses guys, i've been freaking out all day and been reading a lot of mixed opinions on this, and this is my first time growing. That picture you posted looks great HammerHead! I don't think I'm too interested in making oil though. Hash on the other hand I want to make. If you could suggest your favorite method, I'd be all ears. I'm just super psyched to see people responding to a post I made, that i've been reading info from for quite a while. I've lurked overgrow, and Icmag for a little while now. You can do that i'm a oil head get a 3 set 5g bubble bag....I only use 1 bag 73um for bubble..

checked out the bubble bags, thanks for the heads up hammerhead. Gonna order a 3 or 5 set. Still unsure if i'm going to chop now, or wait. Seeing more and more seed pods.

happens to everybody, just be lucky you arent a commercial cropper who stands to loose lots of $$...

butane honey oil is the best thing to make with seeded nugs..

It's a "no-brainer" to let them finish. Herb will still be good, and you will have a lifetime supply of seeds.
