I just put up a 4' 6 bulb with all grow bulbs. I am using it for veg and clones and the results have been spot on. End results.... GREAT LAMP and I can't imagine using anything else for these purposes. They will go from the T5 to a 600W MH for 2 weeks and then the bulb is changed to a 600W HPS.

Here is a shot of some sensi stars 4 weeks from seed and some cutting that have since exploded. The Sensi's had just gotten topped before these pictures and they have since exloded as well.

t5's are super killer for compact fluros.. if you veg with them you get great veg rates the best for compact fluros imo... pretty comparable to a hid but obviously not the same amount of power..

i use a T5 for veg and love it, too!
mixed spectrum 4 bulb fixture...
>NO heat
>NO noise.

i think a T5 would work in a cabinet as well... :chin:

I like mine too. They don't take up much space at all and are very mobile if you have to move things around. I use the 24" long 4 bulb fixtures, 96 watts per fixture.

I recently got a 2' T5 2 bulb light for seedlings/cuttings. Man what a difference from the 400 frying the edges or causing elongated stems. I love the thing and would recommend a T5 to anyone looking for a low heat high quality light for new growth. The compact growth and quality of roots in the cup speak for themselves. Hell, I bet 6 or 8 4' bulbs would work great for a veg room with the light being evenly dispersed over the canopy rather than radiating from a single source. When I get a few hundred to blow, I'm gonna try two 4', 4 bulb T5 setups for my veg room. two seperate units so I can run one or both depending on how many plants are vegging. T5 lighting gets a  from me.
Peace

so what bulbs are ideal for veg? I was told by a shop to go 50/50 with 3500 and 6000k lights. Is that the right way to go?
