what sort of surge protection-240v ?....

I cant seem to find a thread for a multi light controller that includes some sort of surge protection between the relay post and each of the the ballasts receptacles, in case of ballast failure pulling too much in a given branch

you want overcurrent protection for each ballast?

you might need to buy barrel fuses for that, idk, you might try dinrail mounted breakers.

i have a handfull of these 1 amp allen Bradley breakers. they came out of this box that sends DC power to a boat. no clue what it was for. i imagine you could get similar breakers in like... 5 or 10 amp ratings.

Do I just need to install a separate box with 3 double pole breakers in between?

what I did is have a 30a circuit in my main fuse box. from the main panel a 10/3 w/ground wire runs to a t103 intermatic timer. when the timer turns on it powers up a sub panel that is fused for each ballast. cost me about 200$.

I think that's the route that I have to think in.

I hadn't considered over current protection in between untill today

always built right off a relay

I believe I could use fuses since I dont plan on them over loading

Inline fuses would work. It's probably one of the more cost effective options.

They do sell 240v gfci breakers but they are not very common and pretty pricey.
