What size pots, and how long veg?

I'll be growing in Fox Farms Ocean Forest or Happy Frog (not sure which I'll end up getting.)

I have 6 blueberry clones
2 sensi star clones
1 White Rhino X LUI.

All the clones are just starting to show nice roots outside the rockwool. I'll probably be waiting till Wednesday to pot them up. The White Rhino X LUI I had thrown in my flower cab last grow, and since it was just starting to show female about a week ago I stuck it back under 24 hour lighting and will be vegging and flowering it with my clones.

I've got a 400 HPS for flowering (250 MH or 400 HPS for veg.)
I've got 9 plants.

I'm thinking I want to pack these all in close SOG style, so they don't outgrow my light (seems like 9 girls is a lot for a 400 HPS.) How long would you all veg? I've been thinking between 1-3 weeks (or at a certain height.)

Also, I think I'll be using growbags, but haven't decided what size. Should I go one or two gallon? If I go two gallon will I be able to fit the plants close enough to be within the ideal range of my light?

I put 8 #2 bags under a 400 w/ 2 weeks of veg and its pretty full. Why aren't you using the 250 MH for bloom as well? I would put them all in #5 pots and veg them 3 or 4 weeks under both lamps. Keep playin' musical chairs with the plants and you should be lookin at a solid yield.

Veg for 4-5 weeks in a 1 gallon, then transplant into 2 gallons to flower...the room is going to be tight so you might want to put the most promising in 2 gallons and not so much leave in the 1s. Like I said it will be tight but definetley doable. The ideal would be 4 plants vegged for two months. I find in my experience a long vegged properly trained plant yields more than a bunch of small ones....all depends on you though my 2 cent.

It won't stretch the plants out too much if I veg with the 400?

I will definitely TRY to use the 250 MH along with the 400 in flower IF I can get my ventilation in order.

I should be able to do this, because I just got a 256 CFM dayton blower, but I haven't set it up yet.

I've discovered I can fit all of my plants in 3 gallon grow bags IF I get the required amount of soil. Apparently the 3 gallon grow bags are only 8" in diameter which means I could fit 9 in a 2X2 foot signature.

I had not been planning on buying THAT much soil. This would involve probably 2 bags of Ocean Forest or Happy Frog instead of one.

Given a veg period of probably 2 weeks -1 month (haven't decided yet, but don't want to overgrow my light like I did with my last grow) can I expect a higher yield using 3 gallon bags than using 1 or 2 gallon bags?

I might try a couple different sizes to test the results.

I am currently using 1 gallon pots. Was using 2 liter bottles. Got good results with both. Can barely fit 6 in a 3x4 box. Even then the fans leaves overlap.

So many choices. This will be my first soil grow, so I don't really know what to expect. I'll probably try experimenting with 1 and 2 gallon bags this grow, and decide which I like best for future purposes.

Facelift, how long of a veg were you dealing with that you could barely fit 6 in a 3X4 box? That's about the size of my whole closet, but I know that my 400 HPS won't cover my whole closet too well.

I would try training, but my first grow I tried SCROG, without the best results. (Don't think this is in relation to the SCROG at all, but rather a light leak I had going for a bit.)

I want to keep this grow as simple (and quick) as possible until I feel comfortable with my abilities of at least producing 4-5 zips of high quality bud. When I get to that point I will start experimenting and trying to improve my yield. (I've heard of people pulling 1# from a 400 HPS, but right now I'd be really happy just to get a QP.)
