What size Caron Filter ...?

I'm shopping around for a new Carbon Filter and am probably gonna go with the Phresh Filter.

My question is, what size should I get for a single 5x5x7 ft (175 cu ft) tent?

I have an over sized 10" max canfan that I'll be using as my exhaust and an 8" inline fan for intake. Both are on speed controllers....

so I was thinking either the 6"x 24" (550 cfm)
OR the 8"x 24" (750 cfm)

I've heard of other ppl using the 6"x16" (400cfm) in a 5x5 tent with good results... Just wondering if upping the size will make that big of a difference?

What is the fan rated for and how much static pressure do you expect to have in the system? Static pressure will degrade the fan performance you want to match output of the fan to rated input of the filter.

I have a 26x12 with 6in outlet by hydrofarm in my 4x8x8 with a 400 cfm fan. Works so well I piped it into my central air system and now my grow heats my house. Sometimes I open the door into my 4x8x8 veg room to regulate the temps and it works great. You shouldn't need anything bigger for a 5x5.

The INtake fan I have is a 10" Max Canfan and is rated at 1020cfm.... I know that is waaaay more than I'll need which is why its on a speed controller.

Oh and fwiw, My hood is an 8" XXXL.....

I believe Im leaning more and more on the 8"x24" Phresh filter so I wont have to use too many reducer caps.

Definitely overkill to the max! Sounds like you have the right approach there. An 8" system will handle everything you need with a lot of room to spare.
