I've tried a flowtec 1300 and it didn't work. I used a shurflo high pressure pump and that didn't really work. Just wondering what you guys are using?

What do you mean by "it didn't work"? Did the unit fire at all?

I've had my fair share of experience with the HydroGEN.

If the unit is not firing, check the batteries that came with the unit. They have a red cap on them which need to be removed.

If the unit is firing, but there is no pilot flame, make sure your gas connections are done correctly.

The the unit is firing and the pilot flame is lit, but goes out after it stops clicking, you'll need to do other some other things.

I used a ecoplus 1500 GPH pump and the thing still wouldnt work right. When I disconnected the line fromthe unit and turned the pump on, I had plenty of pressure and flow.

I eventually gave up and bought 2 Sentinels

The manual states the pump has to have a certain amount of head pressure. problem is some pumps dont have that rating stated anywhere.

Good luck

Yeah I'm getting one next week, just going to run it to waste from my tap water so I don't have all of the pump problems (mentioned above and in other threads.) They're designed for use with household water pressure I think, I haven't heard of anyone running a pump on one that is happy with their performance.

Using the water valve and run to waste is ideal. The water usage is very minimal (especially if you don't live in the residence). I barely noticed an increase in the water bill.

Overall, it's a cost-savings compared to using the pump/water chiller method.
