What plant setup should i use? #'s

My cabinet will be 22" deep. I need help in determining the width, since it purely depends on the max # of plants i can fit into my chamber.

My width is undecided, i want to maximize Wattage per sq. foot with my 400w CMH.

Is it possible to pull an 8oz + grow from seed with the 22" depth dimension?

Im talking feminised seeds. Is there a strain that i could use this space in, and get 8oz from 2-3 plants? What width would i need for my box? What size pots would be used? and How many plants can i fit in this chamber to maximize output?

With the 22" deep dimension im not sure if i'd be able to put 2 plants in a column. It makes me think i'd have to have 1 row of X plants? What are the thoughts?

Hi there. i have great succes with feminized grapefruit in my closet. Before i used soil, but now its Deep Water Culture and i am never going back to soil. Its very Easy and cheap (if you build it yourself).

I dont use PH and/or EC meters, and my plants are growing at nearly 2cm pr day.

I checked into DWC's and i infact bought a 5gal bucket in thinking it was what i was going to do, but my buddy talked me back into soil.

I just didnt want all of the hassle of checking PH etc etc.

If hydro were the only way i could attain these yields with this space then i may look a little deeper... till then...

it is more likely for an experienced grower.

use a SCROG, and use high quality nutes. very airy soil, and a high quality bulb.

then it is probably possible. remember. patience. if you turn it to flower to early, or cut it down to early, you WONT get it.

also, use a decent strain for yeild. bagseed probably wont do it for you.

honestly, with 1 400, 8 oz is possible, but not probable.

I am running a 22inch deep cab and no problems so far, I have 8 plants going and just put them into flower. I hope to finish with 3-4 females.

Nice, what is the strain and pot size? Im also curious how wide that cab is?

Ak48, Northern Lights, New Purple Power,

Pot size is about 2.25-2.50 gallons , On the smaller side I know but soon as I sex them I'm going to hopefully successfully transplant the females into 3 gallon. I shouldn't transplant in flower but I have no choice.

its 38 inches wide, 53 inches tall, If you go this small , have some creative ways to cool it because DAMN this thing was an easy bake oven before I cool tubed it.LOL

Also noise and smell is a big factor aswell, I under estimated it. Be sure to factor in everything and do lots of research before your build. I didnt do much and I regret it.

Well i checked out your article, looks pretty shnazzy, your setup is going to be quite like mine. As far as temperature goes, i think someone already mentioned it, but negative air pressure reduces temperatures. On top of that if you put a filter before your exhaust, it will also be stank proof air. I would say make an active exhaust toward the top (heat rises) and make some passive intakes, some holes or something, towards the bottom, so the air goes over the plant as it makes its way thru ur chamber.

Noise is also an issue for me, i think im goign to purchase a few shitty rubber mousepads and cut them up and use them as a vibration/noise dampener, bet that'd work great.


So 3 gallon is as big as your goin? What yields are you expectin to get per plant? Do you also plan to keep all plants in the cab or will u have to weed a few out when u change pots?
