it looks very much like the thirps in the sticky from Stitch. but the description matches the Symphilids instead... heres some things i notice

1: they do come to the surface when i water the plants

2: there are absolutly tons of them in the soil

3: the only thing i see thats different is that they are just like fleas...they can jump a freakin mile...one second they are there, then just like a flea they jumped 6" to the left or right. just take a look at the thirps in the sticky but they have 6 legs and blackish eyes. their bodies look grey to the naked eye. please help, cause my plants do seem stunted and it is almost that most crucial week 5 in the flowering cycle.

BTW i should add that to see that they have 6 legs (im not even sure it is 6 but it looks liek it) i need to use a microscope cause they are TINY

root aphinds
i have them as well i fuckin hate the mother fuckers. ive killed off everything thats ever enterd my garden no problem.

I have yet to shake these, im goin hunting for some type of soil drench as no other method makes sence.

A little fy. i had a bored on the ground that has some plactic over it. a small hole in the plastic was enough to let water in and the bugs in. The water rotted out the bored or at least began its decomposition, and the root aphids lives inbetween the plastic on the board on the decomposing wood ~ absoutly thriving.A fuckin pest factory.

they look like this?
Springtails.jpg

springtails imo..
Springtails are tiny wingless insects with distinctive heads and a hump-backed appearance. Their name comes from a forked structure attached to the underside of the abdomen which acts a spring to flip them into the air. This behavior gives them the appearance of tiny fleas. Other than being a nuisance, these unique little creatures pose no threat.

Springtails sometimes cause alarm to homeowners when seen outdoors in enormous numbers, appearing as "piles of soot" in driveways, backyards, on mud puddle surfaces, etc. Occasionally, they enter the home where dampness occurs such as in basements, cellars, bathrooms, and kitchens, especially near drains, leaking water pipes, sinks, and in the soil of over-watered house plants. They usually appear in the spring and early summer but can be found all year round. Some are known as "snow fleas," appearing on the top of snow during late winter and early spring. These very small, leaping insects do not bite humans, spread disease, nor damage household furnishings. They are usually a nuisance by their presence.

They indicate another possible problem...You are overwatering your plants, they love the moisture. I had them too in my first grow, my advice is to let the soil dry out more (2-3 days) then water again..

another thing to kill them off is peroxide. use it double normal strength withevery watering for 2-3 waterings and they should disappear! let me know how it goes!
