What other kinds of plants do you grow?

Just wondering what kinds of plants people are growing besides cannabis.
Vegetables, flowers, bonsai, whatever. Just interested to see what people got going on.

I have one bonsai but it is nothing special, still pretty young and just your typical ficus. I had a 4 year old japanese juniper but it died, I neglected it way too much. I had to water it everyday because it was an outside bonsai and I live in the southern U.S. plus it got mites. It just couldn't make it but I wanna try again. Weirdly enough it still looks exactly the same today as it did when it first died. still standing up straight and firm after being dead a year

I have a veggie garden too. Still working on getting some plants out. Here's a couple pics. These are mostly up close pics because I dont wanna show too much of my property.

Snow Peas

Left to right. Cucumber, tomato, basil

Tomato

Japanese eggplant

Zuchini

Pepper

Hey sensi,
That's what I try to do, grow everything I eat. I'm a vegetarian but I eat a pretty vegan diet. Not a big fan of dairy or eggs I try to eat ital but it can be pretty hard to only eat raw food in this day and age, but I def try.

I have tried cauliflower before but it is just too hot here. I am currently also growing tomatillos, bunch of herbs, beans, cabbage, okra, sunflowers, bunch of leaf veggies, blueberries, and grapes

good luck dbuzz and sensi

Hey sensi, you should for sure try eggplant. It's very easy to grow, basically like a tomato, but it is a great vegetable for vegetarians/vegans. It is loaded with protiens and fatty acids.

Spring is about to BUST out here in CO. I have so many seeds germinating that I can't find a small plate to eat off of. Tomatoes, some hot peppers called "Bolivian Rainbow", some Cucumbers, Some Cilantro that simply grew from the last years crop, Heavenly Blue Morning Glories, Hyacinths, etc, etc. Did I tell you about the tomatoes? Some are of the type called Hill Billy. These are an Indeterminate type that produces huge yellow-red fruit that are striped and the flavor is, shall we say- awesome? Get away from that grocery store crap! I am growing a survival garden for the 21st Century. Not enough to live on, but it does help. (And I have Xmas presents in the form of fresh salsa to hand around in December) I call it the Solstice Holiday.

I'm growing some basil and mint, ...

And I'm also growing some Thai Bird Chilies and some Thai eggplant. I love this stuff, and aquired a taste for it in my travels through Thailand the last few years.

Hey dbuzz,
I find it kinda hard to explain the taste of eggplant. It's kinda plain but in a good way, eggplant has alot of complex subtle flavors but easily takes on the taste of what you cook it with. It's a very versatile vegetable/fruit. I've noticed people either usually hate or love eggplant. Alot of people dont like the mushy texture.

Some people call eggplant a meat vegetable because it makes a good substitute for meat, and because it is soft and fleshy. I kinda think of eggplant as a tofu plant.

Hey, I'm another vegan here, and I try to grow what I eat about 6 months/year. I grow tomatoes, beans, corn, squash, peas, beets, carrots, kale, spinach, peppers, strawberrys, and a whole bunch of other things that don't come to mind right now.

Here's a couple of pics from last year. Things are just getting started this year :rasta:

Last year the tomato plants got 10' high!

Tomatoes, bell peppers, catnip, random herbs and a few flowers. No pictures at the moment, maybe I can take some when it's light outside.
