I personally would be a 1950's S2 Bentley, modified with 4WD and a Rolls Royce Griffon engine, tuned to run on alcohol.

A 35.75 liter(!!!) V12 running on pure ethanol puts out about 2500bhp, and about 4000 foot pounds of torque....enuff to pull buildings of their foundations.

Oher essential mods.....

Fridge, espresso machine in the dash, full telecommumications and GPS mapping suite, chemical toilet, fold-out bed, 24 inch wheels, 6 inch pipes, hot and cold water taps, custom built luggage and a bottle of Grey Poupon velcroed to the dash.

It would be SOOOO much fun to be able to shut down alla you folks in yer american muscle-cars in a 9000lb+ car, with 6 of my friends on-board....hee hee hee

Irish, meh. That is not really that impressive sounding, to be honest. It is better than a Honda or a Toyota, but not anywhere near a car with some muscle.
keep in mind guys that these muscle cars are pushing 400 or more cubic inches. that Sti is only 2.0 liter. which is less than half of what you guys are talking about. i wasn;t really saying "this sounds better" at all, ill take american muscle over an import any day of the week, i was just showing that japanese cars, with the correct mods, can sound nice too. especially the subs

my dad has a kit built 65; shelby cobra wit the smal block 289 in it. thing sounds BEAUTIFUL.

No, it's not an Edsel. My grandfather had an Edsel in his barn for about 20 years and it didn't look anything like that. That car is butt-ugly. The Edsel was not pretty but definately better looking than that thing. It almost looks like some 1950's concept car. Damn it, now I'm curious!

Looking at the grill of that car I'd hafta guess its an Edsel.

It is a concept car of the 50s, but 'tis a Zil & not an Edsel. They hd limited production which ran till the 70s too. The exact name is Zil 112. Of course, for the Western eye, it looks crude and "butt ugly" but for us, where the staple of the car was the Premiere, Land Master etc., it looked sweet and sleek.

Alright Irish, I will give it to you. It sounds alot better than most of the crap on the road, but still. Just 2.0 liters. The only 2 liters I care about is Pepsi. I would much rather have a Subaru than a Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai blah blah blah. I do dig 4 whell drive, but I would rather have 400 horses jumpin out of just the back wheels, than 150 going to all 4. Subaru aint bad at all, makes a hell of a rally car. I would still rather have a car in which I can put my feet on the hood emblem and my head still be a foot away from the windsheild. Big cars are my favorite.

What kind of cars do ya'll currently dirve? I have a 1986 Nissan Datsun 300 ZX, with T tops. Blue(ish) needs a paintjob pretty bad. My girlfriend named my car "Dotty." Ha

That's a boxer engine and they always sound good, even small ones un-turbo'ed ones. (but no replacement for displacement)

Ha ha none taken :joint: Yea, we do wish we had LOTS more Western designs, esp. Muscle cars. I don't want any specific query here, but wondering tho...

A general query for US muscle car owners:

What car do u own?

How is your muscle car as far as maintenance goes? What problem (ex: clutch plate wear) is your car most prone to?

How much $$$ would you need to spend per year to keep the car optimal?

On the side, anyone know of the General Motors Viktor? Any opinions on it?

I have a muscle truck

no car for me....although the wife drives a Monte carlo SS.

But for my pickup....tires are the most expensive for me.
I like roast em every chance I get. Even if im light on the peddle.....10 plys dont last but 3-4 months. And considering that I have to buy snow tires as well....it adds up per year.
Gas can be an issue if im commuting into the city....but lately I have been working locally. I get 11mpg.....with a 26 gal tank....so i look at about 50 bucks a week in gas.

As for maintenance....I just change my oil every 3500 miles and swap out the filter. I haven't had anything break on me yet and its an 03.
