I don't see any problem with the plant, but these guys seem to love the coco my plant is in. It's in a 2 liter soda bottle, and I can see them crawling around in the bottom few inches. The coco get quite dry yesterday and it seemed like their activity was on the decrease, but I watered last night and now theres more than ever. I can't find anything that looks like it, any ideas? This is in my veg cabinet, I've got two other plants in coco in there and one in soil, I can't see into the other coco containers so should I assume they've got bugs too?

Looks to me like possibly thrip larvae. There is a pic of them in Stitch's guide - looks very similar.

Just a guess tho, I may be wrong. Check the guide + see what you think... :rasta:

Peace

Thrips are the closest thing I could think of, but I see no damage to the plants, and I don't see anywhere mention that thrip larvae live deep in the medium. They also look different from the pics of thrips I've seen, but maybe I'm wrong. All input is appreciated, I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts.

Edit: Hmm, termites might be right. Weird... still not 100% though.

I've had thripes a couple of times and it doesn't look like them to me at all. I've never seen anything like that before. What is the size of them?

Very small, 1/4" at the absolute biggest, and all the way down to the size of . <-- that period on your screen.

Awesome Core, thanks a lot. One of the pics in the Springtail link looks exactly like my pics. Now to go do some research, I'll let you guys know what I find.

Springtails. Springtails, or Collembola, are minute, wingless insects about 1/10 of an inch long and vary in color from light gray to black. They are often found in high populations on the soil of potted plants or floating in water reservoirs of plant trays. Springtails feed on fungi and decaying organic matter, and some species occasionally feed on sprouting seed, roots and tender shoots. Problems with springtails can usually be avoided or corrected through proper watering procedures. When they are numerous, literally thousands may be found crawling on plants, pots or tables. Control springtails by treating outside of pots and saucers and the soil surface of potted plants with insecticide.

I dunno, not too worried about them, if they start causing problems then I might just clone all my plants and give the cabinet a good cleaning and start fresh, nothing wrong with that.

I've seen no evidence of them in my flowering cabinet, and I was digging through the coco in my other plants in my veg cab and couldn't see any. So as of now it looks like they're restricted to one container in my veg cabinet, doesn't seem feasible but everything in there is growing more than enough for me, but as I said, as soon as I see problems I'm going to start with a clean slate. I appreciate the help and advice, thanks.

Anybody know of an insecticide that I can flush my plants with, that will also flush out w/o leaving harmful traces?
