greetings ic'ers. i've been doing a lot of research, but i still can't find out what white skunk is by sensi's white label. does it have skunk #1 in it? i came across someone saying that it is not much like white skunk because it doesn't have that true skunk odor to it reknowned by its ancestors. it is supposed to have a bitterey-orange taste reminiscent of a fine liquoure. any info would be oh so appreciated.

here is a pic of one of them.

I would guess white widow, and it's bitter also, like your description.

Hola!!!

I am currently growing White Skunk. I have got his image/info that White Skunk is: White Widow x some super skunk. However, I visited my friend yesterday and he said that White Widow x Super Skunk = Great White Shark and that White Skunk is: Great White Shark x Ruderalis Skunk, so I am bit of confused what is the exact lineage... I havent noticed autoflower qualities in this W.H I currently have.

If I understand right, somebody has telled you that White Skunk should smell like a real skunk / road kill skunk? Almost all of them Holland´s skunks that I have seen & smelled live have all got very sweet smell, nothing like the animal. I think your friend is believing that White Skunk should smell like a real animal skunk. If you want more info about that reeking skunk you should check out:
The Roadkill Skunk Fan Club -thread, which can be found at the Strains & Hybrids forum, ok?

About the White Skunk: I have noticed it is very hardy plant and is quite easy to grow. I have saw only two phenos, the more indica pheno and the more sativa pheno, the sativa pheno takes heat better and yields little better. White Skunk is quite nice smoke, but builds tolerance pretty quick. If you are growing for personal stash, try to grow some other varieties with W.H so you dont have to smoke W.H all the time, this also helps for the tolerance build up. Here is couple real lousy pics of the W.H I grow currently:

If that is your plant in the picture I would say it is the more indica pheno. She dont like heat too much but matures faster in about 45 - 58 days or so...

I hope this clarified you even little!

EDIT: Aah, I noticed that is your White Skunk, do you have noticed autoflower qualities in your W.H´s. We just have to wait that somebody with proper wisdom/knowledge drops in this thread and tell us the exact heritage of W.H. I have been in the belief that W.H is White Widow x Super Skunk, but as I say, my buddy make my beliefs twist yesterday!

Hello,

The exact lineage of the GreatWhiteShark is:

> (Brazilian Sativa x Sth Indian) x Skunk

For the WhiteSkunk, the lineage stay almost a mystery, i guess it is a WhiteWidow x Skunk, but how skunk is in the mix ???

I dont think of a Ruderalis one, because with all the WhiteSkunk grow's who was done, the autoflower traits must have been reported by growers.

herbalistic> you say that your friend sayed you WW x SprSkunk = GWS, by reading this words, i think whitelabel have just crossed a WW to a Skunk (or a superSkunk) in the goal to get a "like GWS" hybrid.

Maybe i'm wrong, it's just a supposition... :joint:

But i really would like to know how skunk they used...

I'm going to try a mail to the guys to know more about this lady.

Hola!!!

Yeah, I really dont believe in the GWS x Ruderalis Sk, I must ask my friend again where he heard such thing. He seemed very sure about it. I saw some strainguide that said it´s WW x SSK and I think it is pretty close/right. You can smell the WW in cured WS, it smells very much alike WW. Anybody who has got dry WW know how it smell and the WS has that same reconizable odor! (at least those two phenos that I have got access...)

One strong point against Ruderalis heritage is also the fact that I havent never seen/heard (until yesterday) that WS would be autoflower. The plant in pictures was about 3 ½ months old and was tortured by mites almost whole veg. If it has autoflower trait in it, I would assume it would started flowering in that time!!!

Im gonna flush that baby in pictures still couple times before the tasty chopchop, damn she is sticky :yummy:

herbalistic - thanks for stopping by the thread! i wish white label would clarify the genetics of all of their strains, but life isn't easy. if you believe that it is white widow x super skunk, than i will lean that way as well. how is the potency in this plant? did you get any purple phenos? what light did you use? nutes, yield, etc. too.

ps. did u notice pinkish/purplish pistils on your w.s.'s?

skar - ya you were right on the great white shark lineage. i know for sure that white skunk only has 2 distinct phenos which herbalistic already mentioned which are indica and sativa dominant. i only got the indica dominant ones in flower right now. thanks for stopping by.

Hola!!!

Damn, this is the second time I type this same answer to this thread, so I keep it short.

I really dont know the exact heritage of WS. I have always growed it from clones and witnessed only two (main?) phenotypes. I havent saw any purple plants among them, but sure would love to see more pics of your one! Like I said the plant suffered from mites / low maintanence the whole veg and was bondaged hard to keep it small. She is currently running and will be chopped inside week. She has now nice harvest window so im going to flush her last time tomorrow and then it´s da chopchop. She was flowered under 250 W HID and produces more what I thinked about poor looking plant. She has been free from mites almost her whole flowering time, so she matured quite well.

Skar: Yeah, try to mail them about the lineage. It´s interesting to find out what is their answer.
