what is the optimal temp and humidity for drying

70 degrees with 62% humidity. Edit: I read the thread wrong. That is what you want your buds to finish at. If you are drying large amounts of weed in a room you want fans and dehumidifiers set at 50% @ 70 degrees.

I prefer cooler temps for drying or else I find the weed dries out too quickly. I prefer it in the 60s, mid to low for drying. RH needs to be <55% for drying, between 60%-65% for curing. Temps the same for curing are better, cooler is better than warmer again here.

Keep the air circulating! Super important.

Unfortunately I don't have humidity control but then again I only harvest relatively small amounts. I can't leave drying plants unattended, based on the previous drying interval alone. So I have to be around every day or three for a snap test.

I live a warm dry climate and have no other place to dry than my garage. I wet trim and hang til about 75% dry.

Then I jar it up and control the drying by leaving the jar open for short periods of time. Seems to work in a crisp/sweat cycle.

Sativa and hybrid nugs can sometimes be less dense than rockhard Indica's. These more open buds end up with a very strong "structure" to them after a few crisp/dry cycles.

The more I learn, the more I find to learn. Each facet of growing is an art in itself. Work with what ya got, keep on it. You'll figure it out. If you don't keep up on jars in this way of doing it, you will end up with moldy trash. Learn quick that way.

Once they get close to the right moisture % I like to start the cure mode using a hygrometer...ala Simon.

Good Luck,
