What is the most hardy plant for a outdoor grow in Finland?

Hi!

There are few strains that do very well in Finnish summer. But there's no such strain that can survive over winter here.
Fallen seeds obviously survive over the long cold winter and will sprout in spring.

Danish strains like Danish Passion and Royal Dane are excellent with good yields/big plants, good potency and they can survive cold weather quite well. Danish plants need some pre indoor growing tho.

Lowryder and most lowryder hybrids like Diesel Ryder are good but some mold could be a problem later in fall.

Just to name a few....

These strains are grown with great success here in Finland and are easily available.

You should check out our Ulkokasvatus 2010 topic. Gives you a lot of good info about strains and different techniques.

Thyphoon works fine as well. I'm not even sure the pre growing inside is necessary with these danish outdoor strains that are able to finish here. A week or two is definitely enough already and after that they are ready to be planted in the first week of may. A friend of mine has done this for years without problems. I did it last year and no problemo! Worked fine for me too.

survive by it's own without any tending. Another trait I'm looking for is the ability to survive the winter and spread the genetics like wildfire.[/url]

Even if they would survive the winter, i don't think they would do very nicely without any tending, atleast not in the long run. I've tried with pehkus and lowryders, didn't work. (Zero germ)

But if u'r gonna try, good luck..

And stay away from our spots, we don't want your pollen f'in up our sensi like wildfire :)

Thanks for input guys. I'd appreciate it if anyone else has suggestions for strains that works well in the cold, and needs low maintenance.

Btw, that Ulkokasvatus 2010 link is to a finnish speaking thread, so it isn't to much use. :)
