What is the best purple weed to start from seed?

Needs to be currently available in seed, no more teasing us with strains in clone only...
Looking for obvious purple colour but still good and strong high with good yield dvd healthy plants. Opinions?
Thanks!

Opinions?
Thanks!

Not sure I'm qualified to answer, since my Dieselicious isn't purple.

Freedom of Seeds Dieselicious is supposed to be Purple. Diesel x Purple.

Purple Trainwreck, from Humboldt Seeds. Also not purple.

I've only grown 1 Diesel. Fem and now 2 PTW fems. I like the buds but ... they're not purple !

Day temps are 75 80 degrees F, night temps are into the 50's.

There is a killer green pheno in there, also (at least in the fems).

My friend had a purple one outside near Seattle last fall, fantastic contrast of purple bud and bright green vegetation. Big dense buds got moldy, though it was late in the year. He grew the mother indoors with the same colors. There were a variety of phenos in the fem KF.

Best purple I have grown would be Bubba x Grape Krush via Retardo Motabon stock and the resulting Bx1 generation built on Phillthy's selection by Stank Bros...

However, I know those seeds aren't around anymore...other than in some seed vaults. Not sure why you don't see more people growing them out.

I think if I was looking for purple stock, I'd be look at CSI: Humboldt by Nspecta - and I'd be trying to get some of his Burkle 2.0.

that looks insane!

my personal experience is Purple Dream for a very good nightcap, or RP Purplewreck. my purplewreck wasn't a super strong high, it was really good for a day time mellow high and taste amazing.

I'll vouch for Killing Fields too. Not consistently purple but the odds are very high, and unlike most purple weed it is actually potent.

outlaws ecpd
they r hard to come by but there floatin around
heard a cat in mi is workin some of his gear with outlaws ok,unfortunately not from theparent stock, but his genetics nonetheless

Ace seeds do a really good Purple Haze if you have a looooong time spare, they've got a slight cross of it to reduce the flowering time, nice colours there.
They also do a Pakistan Chitral Kush that looks lovely and the Erdpurt is very colourful but for outdoors.
For a slight purple variant (well, strictly speaking, another colour completely), there's a nice looking Pink Kush from Dr. Underground.

Dubi has purple haze, and purple malawi and cannabiogen's purple pakistani.. and hybrids of those will be purple and not hard to grow..

The seed line isn't dead. It'll be brought to market again at some point once more extensive selections are made from within the Bx1 generation...it just needs to be worked more to a point of more stability and consistency towards a single set of phenotypes...

Again, I'd check out Nspeta's work - either the Mendo Purps x Bubba or the Urkle x Bubba.

Both of those lines already have two rather famous purples cuts that have been selected from them. The Mendo x is responsible for the Oregon "Obama Kush" clone and the Urkle x is responsible for the "Burkle" clone...

A lot of times, when plants are bred to Bubba you are able to find some really exotic full purple expressions...and none of them are really "weak" cannabis by any standard...

I personally LOVED the original BKGK line by Retardo Motabon - because I love the inclusion of blue genetics (Grape Krush) and the anti-anxiety and stress relief that they bring to a genetic equation. It is also for that exact same reason, that when I made a Bx1 of Phillthy's "BKGK" clone, the outcrossed male was built using an mid 80's Blueberry line (Digi)...again, to place an emphasis on my own medical needs and why it is I smoke cannabis in the first place. The combination of the pain relief from a super strong plant like Bubba combined with the compunded effects of multiple blue lines - just created a plant that really works for me.

Which I think a lot of times - people tend to overlook such factors when considering a strain. There are LOTS of really pretty purple plants - and anymore, I don't think it's accurate to say they lack "potency"...and they certainly bring a unique set of flavors that is entirely absent from green lines.

Plus...who doesn't like looking at some sexy purple flowers. You just can't beat their bag appeal!!!

Anyway...just my two cents and some things to think about as you consider your options of what is currently out there.

Very lovely Frank. The colours have come out so well and she is just glistening, good work.
I'd always buy purple weed when available. I probably would still buy it ahead of something else amazing even if it was utter poo :)

ECSD x Bubba fems from MeltingPot:

Again, the purple from this plant is 100% a result of Bubba's influence...

And honestly, these flowers surprisingly at first tasted slightly mixed berry and fruity - but dried and cured into a rich chocolatey kush profile that really surprised me...especially considering it's siblings all tasted and smelled of dirty, gym sock and earthy kush. However, I didn't keep the plant because it just didn't have much potency at all....which was really surprising considering the parents are two greatly potent individuals.

Anyway - the point being, if you understand how some of these plants breed - you can find purple plants in some lines that are generally not considered to be or intended to be "purple" lines...such potential just exists in the recessive gene traits of certain plants.

So you really may not want to limit yourself to the standard go-to lines...and you might just get lucky and find a truly unique purple expression where you least expect it.
