What's new

what is the best pot size for a every 2 week sea of green

Ok, so im doing a sea of green method, and i let my clones root for 2 weeks, veg for 2 weeks, after rooting, and pre-flower for 2 weeks, in a cfl lighted room, then i put the clones in a flower room under a 600 watt hps

strains are, PINK KUSH.............. WHITE WIDOW................. BLUE BERRY (DUTCH PASSION).............LSD(BF).............BUBBLE GUM...............COLOMBIAN RED HAZE............G-13 X HAZE...........NORTHERN LIGHTS #5 X HAZE..........SUPER LEMON HAZE (GREEN HOUSE)................RED DIESEL.

THINK I GOT THEM ALL.

i understand that the rule of thumb is 1 foot per gallon or vice versa, im using 6 in tall and 6 in wide square pots to do my vegging in after they get to big for the peat moss cups, leave them in the 6 in squares up until the last2 weeks in the pre-flowering room, and then transfer them into 1 gallon bags that i put into 1 gallon square pots to keep them sitting up right

hope this all makes since i re read it and it looks and sounds like mt set up

my plants might get like 2 to 2 and 1/2 feet tall at harvest time, will this be enough room for them to develop a good root system

im also running a trial and using 3 gallon pots with a blueberry clone and a bubble gum clone. Each 1 in its own seperate 3 gallon pot.

if these plants turn out better than the plants in the one gallon bags i may switch to all 3 gallon pots, but i wont have as near as much room or as many plants, maybe one of each...each wave

have to plan that out, itd be a big change!!!

I would say anything with a longer flowering time (70+ days) you want to consider putting in 2-3 gallon pots so they don't get root bound before they're done filling in.
Hazes have a tendency to keep on growing.
Good luck in your quest.

good thinking, yea my colombian red haze is like almost 3 weeks into flowering with 9 more weeks to go and she is almsot showing NO signs of budding up

i got her in a 1 gallon bag, but is she starts getting bound guess ill have to just change her tho i herd it aint good to change once flowering begins

to late now i guess

ohh im also growing...PURPLE BUD....

for got about that 1

thanks for the response

i hope my gallons will be good enough tho cause they are a decent size after they hit the main flower room

thanks guys!!!

what kind of medium you using?use coco and you can use smaller pots for this.I did a sog using 1.75 gal.pots and did some longer flowering hazes with no problems getting root bound.you can grow big plants in small pot using coco.you just have to water more often.hope this helps.but seriously buy coco coir.use bags/pots.you'll be glad you did.

sorry didnt realize i was in the soil forums.get 2 gal nusery pots for a soil scrog, the black ones theyre cheap.

well the overall size of the individual calyxes in proportion to the diameter of a single root would expidentually increse terpins through the auxillary strings of fiber found in celery coupled with the laws of relativity and the gravitational pull of the moon in flux with the ballest will slightly drop the lumins produced and raise the heat during solar flares
you can fix all this by releasing large amounts of methane gas into the hyperbolic growing chamber, and i would highly suggest a ozone layer and a red film over the bulb to make the spectrum of light humans can see much more reddish orange which is ideal for budding and youll feel like your on qualudes bro
and i know this sounds kinda out of the way but when the circus comes to town go collect all their elephant manure, kush loves it ask an indian not a native american
buy a horse they go long time no gas

Lol,
Theres soem messed up responses on this thread... I am pretty high but i'm sure its not just that??

Anyway, I also grow SOG almost exactly the same set up as you. I use 2l pots for my flowering ladies as I can get loads more plants in this way. But the watering takes ages so I have just switched to using 1 gallon pots which seems better but I dont think anything bigger than that would work for a perpetual SOG under 1 light??

I came to this thread looking for answers but now have more questions??

What is the best size pot, for a soil grow, with 2 weeks of vegging, under 1 light, perpetual SOG?????? Cos I got no funking idea...

lol, welcome to my world bro let me know what u find out

they got me thinking bout coco coir now seeing as they are saying u can use smaller containers from seed all the way to flower

ive seen it done but ive never know the ups and downs didnt really wanna find out til now

1 prob tho i got like 8 big bags of fox farm ocean and i asint tossing it

i think ur 1 gallon pots will be to small tho u might wanna veg in 6 in pots, then switch to ur 1 gallon pots at flower i would think this would give ur roots more room to spread out once the plant starts it journey towards the end

i could b wrong tho

i also use 1 gallon pots, but i put 1 gallon bags inside the 1 gallon pots to hold the bags up and so the plants will be higher up in the dirt, more towards the light

this cycle im growing 2 plants in 3 gallon pots and im gonna compare the results of the 1 gallon pots to the 3 gallon pots

hopefully theyll be similar

hey keep me posted dude!!!

The rule of thumb is 1 gallon per foot of plant, so if you are expecting 2.5-3 foot plants, I'd go with a 3 gal pot.

thanks and yes we know this, but im asking kinda i guess whats the smallest size i can get away with

and if the plant is cut and grows outwards instead of up how big do the pots have to be

if they are 1 foot high but 3 feet wide do u still only need a 1 gallon pot???

thanks!!!
