How's the humidity? I don't know soil - Is 5 days enough to root?

soil needs perlite added to it

are you saying you are already feeding them?

does the soil have food in it already or ph neutral?

Well at least you did not water the whole pot, normally when clones are rooting you want to wait for them to root before putting them into a pot, normally a cup is good to put them in after they root.

Where did you get this clone from?

The reason why your plant is yellow, is because when the clone is taking longer than normal to root it feeds off of stored nutes.

Also when clones have just rooted, it's not a good idea to put them into an overly rich soil.

Soil that has nutes, but not very strong, after there root system is good then you can put them into the more rich mixture.

That is just to be on the safe side.

How do you know it does not have roots now that it is in the soil? How long has it been in there?

Soilmix definitely needs to be lightened with perlite or something. Also, looks like the light is to intense. Lower light encourages faster rooting. Any growth or yellowing of the leaves is an indication of too much light. A dome or plastic wrap over the top would help too.

i got it from a local dipensary.. these are outdoors i forgot to mention.. its been in the soil a week know and i know it has no roots because after the 5 day mark and it was not growing i moved them into a smaller pot and i saw that there were no roots that hit the soil.

T,
I'm not at all familiar with dispensaries...but you're saying they just gave you a cutting and not a rooted clone? Hope you didn't pay too much for it.

No more food. They don't have roots to absorb it anyway. 10 days is fairly common to take root and I've had them take longer. 5 days for roots is very fast.
Good luck...

no.. this was a rooted clone but its just not taking root in the soil, like it wont come out of the rockwool... that is my question..sorry for the misunderstanding

OK, the problem wasn't quite clear. Still seems to me that they gave it to you too soon. How did they even know that it was a rooted clone if there weren't any roots sticking out of the rockwool?

Taking a plant from inside to outside usually involves a period of hardening...gradually exposing it to full sunlight, wind and outdoor conditions. And taking a barely rooted clone and sticking it outside is really asking too much. This is what I would have done...

I'd take the clone and plant it into a beer cup of mild soil (no nutrients) and stick it in a window where it gets at least a couple of hours of full sunlight. Water it as the soil dries and keep it inside until you start seeing new leaf growth. Maybe some mild nutrients like worm casting tea or 1/4 strength nutes.

Let it grow a few new sets of leaves and then start exposing it to outdoor conditions. Then transplant up and move it outside.

Another question...it's November. Do you live on the equater? Seems like an odd time to be putting a plant outside.

ya it stays in the 70 to 80 year round here..thanks for the info.
do you think ts too late to take it back inside?

T.rips,
Well if it seems to be surviving outside...I suppose you could just leave it. It's already been transplanted once...so maybe you better just leave it in that pot until ready to go into a bigger one. But if it gets real windy or stormy...pull it inside. At least until it gets big enough and strong enough to withstand the elements.

And on the weather issue...temps aren't the only thing to think about. Light cycles and shortening daylight are what triggers the plant to bloom. You might find yourself with a tiny little flowering plant. I assume you're in socal. I lived in San Diego for 20 years and grew a little outdoors. Always planted in the spring though so I don't know what's going to happen with your little clone. Good luck...

Mornin' T.rips,
If that were to happen, you'd have a monster plant and a huge harvest. Use the internet and find your latitude...there should be some sites where you can look at the hours of light during different months.

And you never know how your particular plant will react. No matter where you're located, (if it's on the northern hemisphere)...Dec 22 I believe is the winter solstice. The shortest daylight hours. So if the roots were to kick in...you could get some veg growth. But still you'll be looking at a pretty small plant.

Do you know any other growers in your area? Talk to them and see what to expect.

Or...is there any way you could afford to buy some lights and set up a quick inside grow area?

Just some thoughts...

I would buy some quality bagged soil, so you know what's in it

I would next time, let is sit indoors under a floro for a while before putting outdoor
